Last week as part of our Pride Month activities, we hosted two panel discussions moderated by and featuring some out LGBTQ+ Lumanity staff. Panelists shared their personal and professional coming out stories and talked about a wide range of topics, including the importance of finding LGBTQ role models in the industry, the importance of remembering LGBTQ history and those who paved the way, different cultural and geographic experiences, everyday challenges that exist in professional environments, creating a safe and inclusive network, the inclusive Lumanity staff and company culture, and advice for allies looking to increase and expand their allyship. We are still celebrating the recent recognition that two of our staff were awarded at the 2024 British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association (BHBIA) Annual Conference. Thomas Markham, Associate Director, was presented with the 2024 Keith Munro Award for Best Presentation for his presentation, The TikTok Revolution: How video sharing platforms are redefining healthcare insights, and Yuliya Fontanetti, Global Head, Quality Assurance and Compliance, was presented with the Julie Stacey Award for Best Workshop Presenter (2021 – 2023.) Our CEO, Jon Williams, has been named in Endpoints News’ third annual feature on LGBTQ+ leaders in biopharma. In the interview, Jon highlights the importance of advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion in the biopharma industry, highlighting that though we’ve come a long way, there is always more work to do.
