🔬🌟 Last week, we unveiled our exciting plan to spotlight the cutting-edge equipment of the MG2lab every week! This week, we present the 6 Nm3/h PEM electrolyzer that is able to operate between 30% and 100% of its nominal load! 🧪⚡️ While we've conducted steady-state tests so far, future experiments will focus on the system capacity respond to load variation, which is crucial for coupling it with PV systems so it can be used for green hydrogen production. Our ultimate goal? Optimal operation of the electrolyzer within the microgrid, transforming it into an additional storage system capable of medium-term period, that can provide hydrogen both for electricity production inside of fuel cells, and its use instead of natural gas. 🌐🔋💡 We're passionate about sharing insights into our lab's capabilities and the tools that drive our success. Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) have developed a hybrid sodium-ion energy storage device that could revolutionize the world of batteries. The newly developed anode and cathode form a high-performance hybrid sodium-ion battery that can be charged in seconds, thanks to the characteristics of supercapacitors' power density. Sodium, more abundant than lithium, is a more appealing option for energy storage systems. The assembled full cell of this device crosses the energy density of commercial lithium-ion batteries available in the market. Quino Energy is excited to announce that our 10 kW/100 kWh prototype is now operational! This milestone builds on our recent successes with one 6 kW/24 kWh system and two 1.5 kW/6 kWh systems. Together, these prototypes - using hardware from two different vanadium flow battery OEMs - demonstrate the commercial viability of our technology. Our innovative water-based system works universally with vanadium-based systems, requiring minimal reengineering to lock in the longer lifetime, more secure supply chain, and lower costs that our tech provides. We're heartened by our rapid progress towards our mission to replace vanadium as the dominant flow battery chemistry. We believe our quinone battery material is the missing ingredient needed for the economical, secure, safe medium-duration storage that the energy transition needs. Within phase 3 of the Work Plan, which focuses on the development of key components, work is being carried out on an electrochemical cell to enable the production of N2. So far, it has been proven that high-purity N2 can be produced at a voltage below 500 mV with a Pr-infiltrated LSCF-CGO cell.
