With summer around the corner, the music landscape always seems to open up and expose people to new music. With streaming statistics suggesting that summer is the time when we consume the most music, it's no surprise that artist streams are on a steady rise, and the amount of discovery that is happening is overwhelming. One area of music I want to focus on is the European and UK music scene. The culture that has traditionally been viewed by outsiders about that part of the world has always been summer fun music that engages a vibe and a relevant audience, but times change. Songs like Peng Black Girls, Militerian, and Gbona put a feeling in your body that you cannot cease to ignore compared to the harder American hits that seem to grasp the music market time and time again. With the expansion of music genres to the general public, the talents that were once unnoticed are now in the public eye and have been steadily gasping people into new worlds and experiences that would otherwise not be available. With playlists like NMD from Apple and Weekly Discovery from Spotify people's music palettes are always getting a new taste of something that they wouldn't normally listen to, and it shows when you ask people or when you hear what people're playing now that it's something that interests them and does not fit the status quo of music.
