As May was Mental Health Awareness Month, here at Madewell we couldn’t think of a better way to promote the month than some organized exercise as a crew! We know that our mental health is heavily impacted by our physical well-being, and the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 3.5-mile race was just what the doctor ordered! Last week, we had over 100 associates join across our organization to run or walk the course through Central Park in matching shirts designed by our very own Elie R., Anni M., Danielle Evangelista. We turned up the stakes a bit with some healthy team competitions, celebrated each other crossing the finish line, and had the opportunity to gather together in post-race celebrations. We look forward to continuing our focus on our mental and physical health year-round and already can’t wait for next year's race! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #JPMCC #Madewell #GlobalRunningDay

Today is all about kindness. When we give selflessly to others, whether through our time, resources, or support, we create a positive ripple effect that extends beyond the people we engage with. Carrying out acts of kindness boosts our happiness, life satisfaction, and overall wellbeing. When we help others, it gives us purpose and a sense of belonging – it’s a win/win! Building a community of sales professionals, leaders, & founders mastering the craft of sales and transforming the inner game // Host of The Rising Leader podcast // Formerly @ Outreach, Microsoft, & DocuSign
Our Catalyst offices are closed for #MentalHealthWeek as gratefully take space to reconnect w/ ourselves. Since mental health doesn't always come "easy", here's how I plan to get my my mind and energy right👇 This week, just my mom and I are spending time at our family cabin up in Maine (pic of our back deck below). My philosophy while we're here... Self Care > Everything else I've realized that if I'm not in a good state mentally, physically, or emotionally, usuallyyyyy my sales numbers and my team are going to reflect that. And if I'm a leader trying to help my team grow and develop, I need to be in integrity w/ it myself. Here's the 4 things I’m doing each day this week to reconnect: 1/ My morning practice is sacred to me, and if I do this usually the rest of the day takes care of itself. For me, that means a morning meditating, some breath work, a cold shower (at least the final 3 min🥴), a green juice, then a run after breakfast. 2/ I'll be putting pen to paper in my journal every single day this week. As opposed to my thoughts jumbling around my dome, let's get them onto a paper. It's crazy how much lighter I feel after this. 3/ We all have old friends we don't talk to as much as we used to, so this week I'm reaching out to 2 people per day. Text, voice memo, call... doesn't matter. I spoke w/ one of my best friends from growing up last week and I was on a high for about 3 days afterwards. Plus in the spirit of mental health, always good to see how your friends are holding up. 4/ And of course, the most important is to enjoy time w/ my mom. There's something about family and being w/ her that just makes things click. She's got some sage wisdom and just makes me feel loved. Grateful for her. Even if you're not on Mental Health week like Catalyst, I highly encourage doing something for yourself this week to ground. What you doing? I welcome all suggestions:) #sales #innergame #community #mentalhealth

The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week this year is ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’ #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
Managing Director @ LSW London | On a Mission to make Mental Health & Wellbeing Tools Accessible to Everyone | We are raising 🚀
We’re doing what we can to get moving! 🚶♀️ 🏃♀️ 🕺 The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week this year is ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’ While this is perhaps not the most inclusive theme for such an important moment in the mental health calendar - my family is blessed with being able the move around. ⚽️ Last week, we took Cassius (our son) to a local football match (Farsley vs Buxton in the last game of the season for the National League North). As a late walker (he started walking at 25 months!) we’re keen to encourage Cass to get running around and taking part in team sports from a young age 🥅 Lili and I recently started running together every Tuesday and Friday morning just after we drop Cassius at nursery. We’ve now done over 40 runs together since starting five months ago and recently started doing parkrun 🏃♀️🏃🏃♂️ 🏢 We’ve also renewed our efforts in walking to and from the LSW London headquarters each and every day (as well as getting out for a stroll every lunchtime). 🗓️ What are you doing to getting moving this Mental Health Awareness Week and how will you be making this a habit that sticks throughout the rest of the year (and beyond)? I’d love to hear what you have planned and how you’ll be implementing positive changes in your workplace. 📷 Photo description: A family of three (a woman, a man and a small boy) look very happy indeed as they attend Farsley Celtic FC vs Buxton FC game at the end of the 2023/2024 season of the National League North *Photo credit: Lili Sinclair-Williams

Support Nonprofit and small business leaders to be successful, positive, trusted and inspired by learning Mental Fitness skills, so they can meet their goals. Don't just survive....Thrive!
Join the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual violence (NCEDSV) for their state-wide 3-day conference! What is the importance of self-care? We are not able to bring our full selves to our service to others without first serving our own needs. And while self-care is cruical to the work we do, it is not enough. We exist in community and support is crucial for our own well-being. In order to truly uproot systems of violence, we need to come from a place of community care. Touchstones of community care include using our power, privilege and resources to do better for people in and out of our scope of reach. It is coming from a place of interdependence, building connection with others, and centering those who are most marginalized. This year's conference will center the foundations of community care and remind us that survivors thrive when communities work together. I will be presenting a workshop on Mental Fitness: Jedi Mind Training vs. Darth Vader. Join us and know that lasting change only occurs when you build up your mental muscle, so you can be happier, have stronger relationships and be at peak performance for the rest of your life. As a leader and a human being isn't that what we all want? 💔 I lost a former colleague a couple days ago to a long battle with mental illness, so this video that's been making the rounds hit me hard when I saw it last night. LMK below what you're doing to better support men and boys through mental health challenges. 💡Over a decade ago when I was attending Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency leadership training, I was trying to convince the other attendees (all men, save for one other woman) of the importance of getting to know those in your office personally. In the regulatory compliance industry, there was a pervasive need for everyone to appear "right" and not reveal any vulnerabilities. So many of these leaders-in-training were understandably all business. But I told them about the time I turned on a local news segment about mental health, and saw this guy I'd worked with every day, and grabbed a beer with on occasion, talk about his recent suicide attempt. It didn't feel good. His work suffered, but I'm not sure any of us knew the extent to which he was struggling. It would have felt much better to do the messy work of asking what was going on and encourage him to get help, and it probably would have made things go more smoothly at work for him as well. Some of them were moved by that story, some of them were still not convinced. I'm willing to bet all of them had been conditioned to see mental health as something separate and apart from physical health, something one should struggle through privately, and something that should stay out of the workplace. Sorry folks, it shows up at work anyway. Regardless of your industry or role, you're in the business of managing people, not just products and services. You certainly shouldn't try to diagnose your colleagues or solve problems for them, but you could definitely ask how things are going and remind them of your EAP or other resources should they ever want help. As we finish up mental health awareness month, now might be a good time for that reminder. Mental health is health. Asking your coworkers if they know a good therapist should be as simple and shameless as asking if they know a good allergist or pediatrician. How can you make that true in your workplace? https://lnkd.in/gHA_yPSz

💚 On this Mental Health Awareness Week, I'm compelled to reflect on the impactful advertisement that resonated deeply with me: the Norwich City Football Club's ad for The Samaritans on #mentalhealthday last year. This subject holds immense significance for me personally, touching the core of human empathy and understanding. The ad stands as a testament to the power of simplicity in conveying a crucial message about the human experience: Individuals wrestling with internal battles frequently conceal their anguish beneath a veneer of normality. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of empathy and compassion in our interactions with others. In a world where appearances can deceive, this ad serves as a call to action, urging us to look beyond the surface and extend our support to those who may be silently battling their demons. It captures the core values of unity and comprehension on the path to mental wellness. As we navigate the complexities of mental health, let us draw inspiration from this powerful work of art and commit ourselves to fostering a culture of empathy, acceptance, and support. Together, let's endeavour to build a world where silence is not a burden anyone bears alone, and where empathy serves as our guiding principle. 💚 #mentalhealth #checkin #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthawarenessweek #bekind #YouAreNotAlone #wellness #empathy

This week is #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, so with that in mind let's delve into the essence of nature and kindness, reflecting on the complex 'Jigsaw of Life'. As humans, we are inherently complex people, so why do we stigmatise the experience of #mentalhealthissues as if it were a failing? Our brains are marvellously detailed orchestrators of our being. When I returned home from USA, I had an unexpected and unprepared stay of hospitalisation due to suffering a Global Transient Amnesia attack, triggered by underlying stress and delayed bereavement of the loss of my Dad. To this day, I still do not remember the hours lost and it was many but I do recall a nurse shared her profound insight with me on the Power of the Brain, and I think about It often. She highlighted the remarkable resilience of our brains, even in the face of adversity. It struck me that our mental well-being is as intricate and vital as any other aspect of our health or organ within our body. So, let's extend compassion to ourselves, recognising that everyone encounters rough patches and wrestles with mental health concerns at some point. Whether visible to others or hidden beneath the surface, seeking support is an act of courage, not weakness but more importantly a steadfast sign of bravery and love to us. Let’s foster a culture of understanding and empathy, to ourselves and others that are suffering, embracing our humanity in all its beauty and intricacies of which it makes us the Human we are today! #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #JigsawPeopleSolutions #collaboration #peoplematter #TalentAcquisition #CraftSuccessPieceByPiece #PeopleStrategy #CandidateOnboarding #AgencyPSL #CareerGuidance #DiversityandInclusion #RecruitmentMarketing #employeevalueproposition
