Azkoyen Group closes the 1st halft of the year with a net profit of 8.9 million euros and an EBITDA of  17.1 million euros; a 34.6% and 40.8% higher than 2022 respectively.

Ghorahi (stock ticker: GCIL) closed at NPR 390 a share, 10% below the initial offering price of NPR 435, testing the IPO market with premium pricing. This threatens to deter investors from buying shares of companies eying initial public offering (IPO) at a premium, especially as the market becomes more risk-averse. The timing of an IPO can sometimes decide its performance in the secondary market. In the case of Sonapur Minerals and Oil, which also went public at a premium, the sharp decline of more than 29% in the first three days of trading have burned investors. "Yaar IPO allotment milta hi nahi! Ya toh mera Demat kharab hai ya kismat!" Yes I can totally understand the pain! But ever thought about the process of IPO allotment? Who does it? IPO entity? SEBI? Registrar? Is it independent? Let's get the answers. ;) 1. This allotment is done by the registrar of companies independently with no interference from the management of the company. 2. All the bids are registered and through an online process, invalid bids are removed and the final number of successful bids are considered. Your bid can be invalid because of an incorrect Demat account number, incorrect PAN, or multiple applications for the IPO. 3. Now if there is a small oversubscription, each successful applicant will first be allotted 1 lot of shares and the balance shall be allotted proportionately. This is called the pro-rata basis of allotment. 4. In case of a large oversubscription where all the applicants can't be even allotted one lot, SEBI quotes that the lots shall be allotted on a lucky draw basis. The lucky draw process shall be computerised with no partiality and favouritism. While doing this, it may happen that a lot of applicants are not allotted shares as their names were not in the lucky draw.
