Avid memorabilia collectors are faced with a difficult decision: who gets the collection when they're gone, and what will they do with it? 🤔 Those with substantial collections – of anything from cards to coins to toys – will want to be proactive when it comes to passing it on to the next generation. Creating an inventory of items with an approximate value assigned to each is a great place to start. 📝 Next, think about who would appreciate the items in the collection most. You may want to divide the items among a few lucky beneficiaries, sell specific pieces to other collectors, or donate select items to a museum. 🏛️ Or, perhaps you'd like to open the collection to friends and family members when you're gone, so that they may each choose a few pieces to remember you by. 💫 If you're struggling with what to do with your collection, we can help walk you through your options. 🤝 Click here to book an appointment with us: https://bit.ly/3K29QNH

Holy smokes, Bill! Thank you so much for this vote of confidence, I appreciate it, and you! The project Bill so generously helped support is a story-world called The True History of OZ: BOOK ONE - The Tin Man Runs the Town. How I came to be in possession of the 5 volumes of The True History of OZ books is a heck of a story, but for another time. They obviously predate L. Frank Baum’s book, by (I’m no expert) maybe 100 years, they are quite fragile, and so far as I know, they are the only copies that exist. Now, how BAUM came to be in possession of these 5 books is a heckuva story too. (Or maybe just a legend. It’s never been proven). Anyway, more about the story here: https://theWizardofOZ.org I am designing a TTRPG (table-top role-playing game) to introduce this story-world. I soon will begin a 100-day awareness campaign, and each person that sponsors a day of that campaign will get a Limited Edition version of the game, (1 of 100), as well as other Limited Edition media based on The True History of OZ. Support the campaign, learn more about the Limited Editions: https://lnkd.in/gm8fdQqw
My friend Matt Schulte continues to inspire. He has spent his life creating amazing art in a range of fields, and his latest idea is one of his best. I've just donated to his GoFundMe and I encourage anyone interested in supporting independent, bold, creative voices to do the same. https://gofund.me/902b56e0

Birmingham is unique for many reasons. What really “does it” for me is that it's a place where history and resilience intertwine. To me Birmingham’s True North and a true Global beacon of hope is the the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI). BCRI stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of those who fought for equality. Earlier this year I was fortunate to have the honor to be a part of MoCaFi’s On Our Block event at the BCRI as I walked the halls I could hear and feel the echoes of struggle and triumph reverberate through the halls, stirring my conscience and igniting my passion for a more just society. The BCRI's profound impact lies not merely in its exhibits and archives, but in its unwavering commitment to education and activism. It is a place that not only preserves the past but also empowers the present, equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools to challenge injustice and champion equality. On a personal note In today's society, there are often limited platforms that showcase the remarkable achievements and contributions of Black men. However, the 'Men of Change' exhibit is a refreshing exception its very Dope(daring, offical, powerful, encouraging). Check it out when you go by. Also check out the "They Live Among Us" campaign- paying homage to local advocates who have devoted themselves to the cause of human and civil rights.” FYI this is Giving Tuesday, a great time to take part in helping the BCRI honor OUR legends. #BirminghamCivilRightsInstitute #BCRI #SocialJustice #Equality #CivilRights #History #Resilience #Education #Activism #Progress #Hope #Legacy #Inspiration

Donating to IEATA on Giving Tuesday is crucial as it supports the nurturing of creativity, innovation, and cultural understanding of the intermodal expressive arts in our society. The funds raised on this day go a long way in facilitating art initiatives expressive arts teaching & learning globally. IEATA utilizes donations to create and share resources on how the expressive arts can heal, inspire, and bring communities together. Additionally, donations can help provide access to expressive arts therapy and education for those who might not otherwise have these opportunities. Thus, your generous contributions during Giving Tuesday can have a profound impact, driving positive change through the power of the expressive arts. #ieata, #artsaccessbility, #expressiveartstherapy, #expressiveartsheals #expressiveartsactivism, #creativity, #ieatacommunity, #creativecommunity #expressivearts, #creatives, #creativeartstherapy #experssiveartsactivism, #neuroaesthetics, #expressiveartseducator #expressiveartsadvocate, #expressiveartsfacilitator #expressiveartstherapist,#ieatareat,#ieatareace #intermodalarts, #multimodalarts, #integrativearts #artsbased, #artstherapy, #reat, #reace #creativespirit,#shiningstar

3 Years ago today......All's Well That Crosses Well. Save the Adirondack 25 ranks as the most successful short term non-profit project that I have ever been a (small) part of, and perhaps even remove a lot of those limiting descriptors. The Adirondack 25 (Alco RSC2) had been sitting next to the Utica Children's Museum for decades, but a change in ownership meant it had to be moved quickly or scrapped. Short version, it was moved. The lessons include: 1 - Gather a team of good people, let everyone do what they are good at.....which is why you gathered them in the first place. 2 - Make sure your project has a defined purpose and scope that can be explained to potential donors and stakeholders. 3 - Never confuse the fact that a service does not have a cost with it not having a value. Show gratitude. Caption from that time: The day has arrived and ARC 25 has departed the Utica Children's Museum on Friday, December 18, 2020. It made a safe trip across to the Genesee Valley Transportation Co., Inc. Mohawk, Adirondack, and Northern where a mechanical assessment will be done before it is moved to the Remsen Depot.

Did you know nearly one-third of solo shows in US museums go to artists represented by just five galleries? So why does diversity matter? Diversity is like a breath of fresh air in a stuffy room. It brings new ideas, new perspectives, and new ways of seeing the world. It challenges us to think differently, to question our assumptions, and to open our minds and our hearts to new possibilities. Diversity isn't just good for artists, it's good for all of us. When we embrace diversity in the art world, we're not just enriching our cultural landscape, we're building a more inclusive, more vibrant society for everyone. That's why ODBK matters, that's why your donation and your support are paramount now more than ever. #ODBK #nonprofit #contemporaryart #fyp #donate #diversitymatters #DiversityAndInclusion
