Embracing multiculturalism comes with real responsibilities. It means standing by our communities, respecting our values, and honouring the obligations that come with embracing our diversity. So, next time you join the parade, eat our food or want ‘representation’ in your group, remember that true diversity demands more than a momentary feeling that you have done the right thing. Happy #Pride Month to the #LGBTQIA+ community! At Pure Storage, we’re celebrating the "Month of Love" with education, events, and allyship and I can’t be more excited to see what our Pride employee resource group (#ERG) has in store. As Chief Diversity Officer at Pure, I’m so proud of all the work that our ERGs do to promote inclusion and belonging at Pure. It’s just one of many reasons that makes Pure so special.    How can you be a better ally not only during Pride Month, but throughout the year? Assess yourself. How are you showing up? Are you an #inclusive team member or leader? Ask others. Do you use inclusive language? Ask others. Have you shared your #pronouns and encouraged others to do the same? It’s these little actions that can add up and make an impact.  As said by John F. Kennedy, “There are risks and costs to action. Happy Friday!! I hope you had a splendid holiday. I truly enjoyed myself. For this daily assessment, I witnessed an inclusive example and story to share. For my holiday, I attended a neighborhood gathering. There were several things that I found to be most compelling. --- INCLUSIVE EFFORTS: The neighbor who hosted the event made a point to reach out to all his neighbors. --- INCLUSIVE RESILIENCE: Even after they didn’t attend, he went around the cul-de-sac, spoke with each of them, and still included them in the festivities. --- INCLUSIVE DETERMINATION: He was determined to be inclusive even if others didn’t receive it. Lo and behold, someone engaged who normally doesn’t.  There are always opportunities for inclusion. It sometimes only takes ONE person to make a decision and be an example for others. I was recently asked: How does Celex incorporate Diversity and Inclusivity into the Ensemble? Well... Our first step was a structure for Equality. The Celex Ensemble is for all cultures to be seen as we build a global community for wedding excellence and provide unique positions within each country. If you're in the wedding industry, want to represent your country/culture/style and would like to join our community then do get in touch. The second step is building/educating our team, ensuring hires not only understands the cultural and ethic differences from certain events but also experiences and can relate to them. The third step is to provide a stage to the underrated, the upcoming and the outliers (the non commerical artists). The 4th step is creating communication channels that can present advise/criticism and build a team structure that could effectively analyse and action this. I'm sure there may be many other steps on the way and we are always open to learn. P.S.
