Margaret Reid, CFA’s Post

Director, Investment Counselor at Citi Global Wealth Management

The world unexpectedly lost a ray of light and gained a star on June 3rd, 2024: my husband Andrew M. Reid, MBA and the father to our beautiful daughters Kaela (15) and Cassidy (13). To say Andrew has shaped my life and the many lives of others would be an understatement. To share this on our personal professional networks is to honor Andrew, who was a colleague, friend, leader, spouse, father, and a remarkable person throughout his non-traditional career and spirited way of life. Most fitting to this profile was Andrew’s pursuit of completing his BA and MBA as an adult and mid-career at California State University - East Bay. In part, Andrew’s motivation was to show our daughters to never give up and to have no fear in the pursuit of self-improvement and success in life. “There is always better…” Andrew was a man of inclusivity, of ensuring those around him were given a handshake, an acknowledgment, a recognition of, whether they expected it or thought they deserved it. Some saw this as Andrew being overly social, or over the top, but those who know him understood it as Andrew being his genuine self - celebrating everyone and everything. Whether he knew you for a day or all of his life, you were never excluded from his thoughts of well-being and best wishes. Andrew never met a stranger… On behalf of myself and our two daughters, we want to relay our sincere gratitude for the incredible love and support from our local community, my professional network across CFA Society San Francisco, our soccer families Lamorinda Soccer Club, Walnut Creek Surf Soccer Club, our daughters’ Carondelet High School and Lesley Schooler, and most particularly DocuSign leadership Gary Wootten, Stephen Shute, and Allan Thygesen. Andrew thrived in his AE role representing a company greening the world, and was so proud to work with leaders across the Federal Government and its underlying Agencies. For those wanting to carry on Andrew’s legacy: - To the fathers out there still able to hug their daughters: please hug. - To the fathers out there still able to say how much you love them: please say it so they hear it. The term “life is short” also takes on new meaning when daughters realize the life events in front of them will not be shared with the one person they wanted to impress, the one person they wanted to be most proud of them. I was blessed with Andrew as Kaela and Cassidy’s father as he always ensured a hug and words of love weren’t far away. Indeed we lost Andrew too soon, but we are grateful for the full life we lived and celebrated with him - every holiday, every birthday, every sunset I shared over our 20 years together. For the million other ways we will miss him, I think of Andrew’s words: “There is so much to say, but I can’t say it all.” Andrew Reid Link to Andrew’s Tributes: https://lnkd.in/gJrj5rXc https://lnkd.in/gc3zSNEM

Margaret, I am so sorry for your loss. I vividly remember I met with you, Andrew and your young daughters on an ABSC soccer field almost 10 years ago. He was so charming and warm, with a firm and hearty handshake. Wish you and your family all the best.
