Lionel Messi, considered the best soccer player in the world, does something surprising when a game starts. Instead of immediately getting involved, he takes it slow in the beginning. He doesn't rush to the ball; instead, he carefully watches the opposing team's players. He walks around and pays close attention to every move they make. This strategic observation allows him to internalise and analyse their positioning, identifying weaknesses and gaps in their defence. In the past, Messi faced criticism for not doing enough, especially when it came to defending the goal. However, it's important to understand that in a good team, everyone has their own job. The team works best when each person does their specific task well, instead of everyone trying to do everything. This approach makes things organised and helps the team perform better, minimising chaos and confusion. Messi's approach has proven its worth over time. He kept believing in his process, which led him to secure back-to-back international trophies with Argentina—a remarkable achievement that has shifted public opinion. Those who once criticised his style now applaud his gameplay, acknowledging the strategic brilliance of his actions on the field. This principle extends beyond the scope of sports and into the field of leadership and management. Leaders can learn from Messi's strategy. Just as Messi quietly watches his opponents, a good leader can quietly observe their team, stepping in only when really needed. By thoughtfully assigning roles and responsibilities to each team member and ensuring that they perform those tasks efficiently, leaders can nurture a high-performing team that thrives through combined efforts. Messi's way of playing soccer holds important lessons for leaders. By observing, assigning tasks, and intervening, when necessary, leaders can ensure that each team member does their best and drive the team towards success. #operationalexcellence #navigatechange #coxswainalliance #getshitdone #lionelmessi

"My forwards only need to run 15 meters, unless they’re either stupid or asleep" - Johan Cruyff It's not about how much you run, it's how you position yourself, knowing when and where to make a run. While playing at Barca, both Romario (pictured) and Messi were famous for running less than the rest of the players, yet, they were assisting and scoring the most. Throughout his career, Messi has been criticized for walking. After an El Clasico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid in December 2017, there was widespread coverage of the fact that Messi walked 83 percent of the roughly 5 miles he covered that game. Despite this, he scored and assisted in Barca’s 3-0 win. Messi walks better than most players run. This is the essence of the Positional play: players move together as a unit, control possession, position themselves in the high value areas, which in turn removes the need to run long distances (preserving energy in the process). Slow is smooth and smooth is fast Players (workers)… slow down, be considered, conserve energy. It is the ball (the work) that should move quickly around the team to arrive in the back of the onion bag. Maximize the effort not expended. Banish busyness. Keep the courage to have your conservation of energy misinterpreted as laziness. There will always be critics, but the more success this method garners, the fewer critics there will be. Every now and then someone will criticize Messi but no one listens to them... he is the GOAT! #agile

One of the greatest of all times (G.O.A.T), Lionel Messi lifts Inter Miami to history in Leagues Cup final win over Nashville SC!!! This was a big win for the team and most of Messi's fans; and just like my colleague (a big fan of his) said, “Messi has given me enough to retire from being an ardent football fan”. That is what this G.O.A.T can do. For me, I got some inspiration from Messi's football career and decided to share as we start the new week. 1. Unwavering passion: Have a strong passion for your career or life’s work (i.e. whatever you are doing) 2. Commit to do what is vital 3. Hard work: always put your best foot forward at all times 4. Love what you do 5. Be consistent and keep at it 6. Have a sense of responsibility 7. Team player: learn to work effectively with others 8. Building others: help your team to grow 9. Have the right attitude to work and people around you So what about Messi resonates with you the most? #inspirationseries #growth

With the announcement of Lionel Messi joining Inter Miami, Forbes reported that ticket prices have increased 500% in anticipation of his debut. The deal to bring Messi to Miami is not only one of the most lucrative for him, but for brand partners alike. The news surrounding Messi's deal and influence reminded me of this article that I read during the World Cup last year - Messi spends approximately 85% of his time on a football pitch walking around. A fascinating statistic when you think about the star power and influence that he holds. So how does someone who spends 15% of their time actively on the ball become one of the greatest players ever? Well, I would argue it's the same way he's constructed one of the greatest sporting deals ever. Messi's spends the majority of his time on the pitch studying the field, players, positions and mapping out every move. Essentially, his acumen on the pitch makes the difference in winning or losing a game. His business acumen off the pitch is a reflection of this. The lifelong benefits that have been crafted in this deal for both Messi and his partners, showcases his ability to make strategic moves that leverage his star power. Athletes building mega brands is nothing new. Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Maradona, Ronaldo ... to name a few. But I believe the power of this deal will influence athletes to rethink how they navigate contracts and partnerships that leverage their own brand. What do you think? https://lnkd.in/gD3bNmgp

Imagine watching a young boy on the field and thinking, "This kid can't play ball. He's too small, too fragile." But then, you'd see something extraordinary—a spark of greatness. This was Messi Lionel at 12, as seen by his youth coach at #Newell's #OldBoys. When FC Barcelona signed #Messi at 13, many #clubs would have focused on balancing his abilities, particularly improving his #rightfoot. Instead, #Barcelona chose to perfect his exceptional #leftfoot, making it the best in the world. Messi's journey to the #WorldCup—a dream for many—was unique because of the systems he built. He didn't rely solely on his talent; he surrounded himself with experts to achieve his goals. He treated his body as an investment, creating a support network to maximize his potential. Today, Messi has scored 837 goals, 87% with his legendary left foot. He boasts eight Ballon d'Or titles, six European Golden Boots, and two World Cup Golden Balls. Had his coach insisted on "fixing" his right foot, we might never have seen his greatness. This story urges us to rethink our approaches. How often do we focus on fixing weaknesses instead of amplifying strengths? Are we missing out on nurturing potential Messis by trying to create "well-rounded professionals"? How can we shift our perspective to recognize and cultivate exceptional talent? #GOAT #LionelMessi #Messi #FCBarcelona #YouthFootball #FootballJourney #TalentDevelopment #StrengthsOverWeaknesses #AthleteMindset #WorldCupDreams #SoccerLegend #ExceptionalTalent #FootballTraining #InspiringStory #PotentialRealized #GreatOfAllTimes

#Trending, shot taken outside FC Barcelona football club, as workers were #removing huge wall photo of the #legendary football player Lionel #Messi soon after he left the club (due some financial disagreement as per news around). The player who's given great 20years of extra ordinary game with the club and lead the club while bringing endless #victories, #achievements & #trophies in the name of his team. Sooner than later the club will fill in his spot with a new player and Messi's name will not be renounced with the club again and within FCB . But, Messi's name will be always #remembered in the football game history, even if within FCB his glorious time might be forgotten soon later on. Big #Lesson to be learnt. While giving your best performance to the club, always remember to work on #buildyourself. Because one day you may be left out having only #yourself. Make yourself #thatplayer who's name will #forever be #remembered in the game. (with due respect to Messi & FCB as great memebers of football game, I'm not a fan of the three 🙃) #gamechanger #selfdevelopment #selfaware #selfcare #growth #selfgrowth #performance #awareness #change #culture #motivation #inspiration #leader #achievers #football #messi #personaldevelopment

Saturday marked another cinematic chapter in Messi's life. Leading Inter Miami to their first major trophy in the Leagues Cup, Messi continues to solidify his status as a global icon. After a thrilling 1-1 draw against Nashville SC, it was Inter Miami, co-owned by soccer maestro David Beckham, that emerged victorious in a heart-stopping 10-9 penalty shoot-out. Messi's magic was once again on display as he netted a long-range stunner, with the game later being equalized by Fafa Picault. This Leagues Cup marks Messi's first silverware since his recent move to the Floridian club, an affirmation of his immediate and unparalleled impact. In Messi's journey, both past and present, fans worldwide find lessons and moments that transcend football, speaking to the very essence of passion, dedication, and excellence. 5 Life Lessons from Lionel Messi's Legendary Journey: 🏆 1. Mastery in Winning. Beyond innate talent, Messi's rise to prominence is a tale of dedication and unyielding drive. His recent achievement with Inter Miami attests to his belief that true victory stems from resilience and adaptability. 🤝 2. The Art of Sharing, Messi consistently teaches that success isn't about solo glory. His latest spell with Inter Miami echoes this, as he seamlessly blends into a new team, amplifying collective achievement. 🤜🤛 3. Power of Teamwork. From Barça to Miami, Messi's brilliance often complements team dynamics. His career consistently promotes the idea: Together, we achieve more. 👨👩👧👦 4. Family – The Ancho: Even amidst new challenges, Messi's bond with family remains strong, reminding us of the importance of our personal anchors. 🦁 5. Silent Leadership: Messi's leadership, whether in Barcelona or Miami, isn't about being the loudest. His actions on and off the field inspire countless others. Embrace consistency and dedication, for they inspire more than mere words. Recognize the power in quiet strength and know that leadership isn't always about being the loudest. Remain adaptable, allowing flexibility to overcome challenges. Prioritize collective effort and collaboration over individual brilliance. Always remember your roots, no matter the height of success. And most importantly, face setbacks with unwavering determination, ready to bounce back. Drawing inspiration from Messi's legacy, these principles guide leaders both on and off the pitch. FYI.... HE DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH, and leaders always eat last. #leadership #Messi #Miami #SiSePuede ✊🏼
