I want to thank everyone who worked on Gears of War 1, 2 and 3. I played them on #emulator and I must say: if you want to learn game design and game art, do play Gears of War. It's not the flawless product and the perfect experience, but it's just awesome. Play it and you'll see how an awesome team makes an awesome game. I could go on to praise the art, the cinematics, the gameplay and so on. But I'd be a technical review and this post is not meant for that.

If I were to compare the game with others. Compare Gears of War with Max Payne 3. Gears of War is superior in every way. Compare the art and the design of the destruction in the cities in Gears of War with F.E.A.R. 2. F.E.A.R. 2 also features ashes of people who died after a nuclear explosion. However, the environment created in Gears of War 3 is better. I could say that the post-apocalyptic environments are superior to those in RAGE and RAGE 2.
