Earlier this month, Maola was proud to donate 200 half-pint milks to the Bike2DC – Ride to Honor event. That event saw more than 50 cyclists ride from Charlotte to Washington, D.C. in honor of fallen police officers. The ride started at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) headquarters on May 9 and finished on May 13 at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Candlelight Vigil on the National Mall. Around 50 cyclists started in Charlotte and stopped only to eat and sleep and spent overnights in Asheboro, NC; South Boston, Va.; and Richmond, Va. before finishing the ride’s fourth day at the Candlelight Vigil. The ride has been annual since 2007, but it had exceptional circumstances this year. Just days before the ride, CMPD officer Joshua Eyer was shot and killed alongside three other North Carolina law enforcement officers on April 29. “This year, our cyclists will be pedaling [Eyer’s] public order, his mountain bike, along with his helmet and his vest that carries his number, and those riders will take turns riding his bicycle in memory of him,” Deputy Chief Jacquelyn Hulsey with CMPD told WSOC-TV Eyewitness News. Maola has a distribution branch in Charlotte. We were proud to support these officers and cyclists as they honored fallen law enforcement officers. 📷 Riders stop in Chase City, Va. to enjoy Maola Chocolate Milk

For today’s #RoadSafetyWeek post, we'll be talking about motorway breakdowns. 👇 If you ever find yourself in this situation, it’s key to remember the two important things you need to do: 1. Get yourself to a safe place; 2. Call Highways England on 0300 123 5000, then call your breakdown provider for help. Remember not to: ❌Attempt any repairs at the roadside. ❌Use a warning triangle; it's not safe to do so on a motorway. ❌Stand next to your car - always ensure you keep a safe distance. For more details, view our Motorway Breakdown Guide: https://lnkd.in/eMhFRD34 You can also find some helpful resources over on Brake, the road safety charity’s website: https://lnkd.in/eXdAns8T

It’s #RoadSafetyWeek – a topic that is extremely important to us. This year we’ve partnered with Brake, the road safety charity to better understand driving behaviours and the day-to-day challenges facing our customers, and we were surprised by the some of the results: - 71% don’t know what stopping distance to keep from the vehicle in front of them - 1 in 10 drivers don’t think they could pass a UK practical driving test At AXA UK, we want to work collectively with the Government and wider industry to improve driver education and road safety. As a first step, we have called on the Government to publish the Road Safety Strategic Framework. #RoadSafety #KnowYouCan

When discussing motorcycles, donning a helmet is an absolute must. This is crucial not just for personal safety, but also for bolstering the probability of a more favorable legal resolution when it comes to settlements. Opting out of wearing a helmet can unfortunately be exploited to imply a degree of culpability for any injuries sustained in the event of an accident. Prioritize your well-being on the road. #RideSmart#HelmetSafety#Dunlapandlakes#Dunlap#attorney#LegalProtection#RoadSafetyMatters#HelmetSafety#SafeRide#ProtectYourHead#HelmetOn#StaySafeRideSmart#SafeRoads#SafeJourney#HelmetFirst#RoadSafetyAwareness#RideResponsibly#BeSeenBeSafe#HelmetSafetyAwareness#BuckleUpForSafety#KeepCalmHelmetOn#ShareTheRoad#SafetyFirstAlways

A group of 40 bereaved parents are demanding immediate action to tackle the unacceptable and disproportionately high number of young driver and passenger deaths on UK roads. For decades, Governments have been repeatedly presented with the evidence on how to reduce the huge risks facing young, novice drivers aged 17-24 and their passengers, but they have all failed to act. Enough is enough. How many more young people need to die before action is taken? We are proudly working alongside Brake, the road safety charity & The Road Victims Trust to support this important campaign, which is calling for: - The introduction of Graduated Driving Licensing to reduce road death and serious injury - An expert panel to advise the Government on how Graduated Driving Licensing in the UK should look Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/ev6eGSeE #GraduatedDrivingLicensing #YoungDrivers #EnoughIsEnough

No doubt, the basic scenario plays out every day across America. An elder loved one passes, and an adult child or children are left to deal with an estate and no plan in place — or at least no apparent plan. What to do with mom’s comfy chair? How much is that old couch worth? Should we just donate everything to charity? Who decides? The oldest? The one living closest? Do we all get a vote? #will #estate #estateplanning

It’s not too early to sign up for Road Safety Week, Brake's biggest road safety campaign. From 19 to 25 November, thousands of schools, communities, and organizations get involved to share important road safety messages, remember people affected by road deaths and injuries, and raise funds to help Brake care for more road victims and campaign for safe roads for everyone. This year, the theme of Road Safety Week will be Let’s talk about SPEED. Every time we drive faster than the speed limit, or too fast for the road conditions, we increase the risk of a crash – and we increase the chance that someone we love will be killed or hurt on the road. Taking part in Road Safety Week is an excellent way for your organization to shout about what you already do for road safety, as well as take part in a campaign that will help fleets, clients and employees understand how best to protect themselves and others road users through good policies, procedures, training, and education. Brake, the road safety charity will provide all organizations that sign up with ideas on how to get your employees talking about road safety and speed.
