Last week, MDVA 2024 Oustanding YC Molly McWilliams and 2023 Outstanding YC Thomas French visited with members of Congress and their teams during the annual Young Cooperators Dairy Policy & Legislative Forum. Advocating for their fellow dairymen and dairywomen is an important part of MDVA's YC program and we are grateful for the time that Molly and Thomas took to speak on behalf of all MDVA members in Washington. The duo joined MDVA CEO Jay Bryant, MDVA President Kevin Satterwhite, and MDVA CFO Jon Cowell in participating in the week of activities that National Milk Producers Federation coordinates at our nation's capitol each June.

One week ago, President Biden signed six of the FY 24 Budget Bills into law. Included in the Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Bill details was an almost $6 million cut for #pesticide registration activities at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A predictable pesticide registration process relies on fully funding the Office of Pesticide Programs at EPA. RISE's grassroots appropriations campaign is just one way we make our voices heard to elected officials crafting the budget for this essential program. Join our webinar to learn how you can #makethedifference with your elected officials!
A predictable pesticide regulatory process is contingent upon adequate funding from Congress through annual appropriations. Join RISE for an Appropriations Webinar on Thursday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time for a deep dive into the process. Megan Striegel-Thomas, RISE Government Affairs and Grassroots Engagement Manager, will outline the timeline for this year's appropriations process and the funding initiatives that RISE supports, and Steven Farrington, RISE Governing Board member, Gowan, will share his experience in submitting appropriations requests and engaging with his elected officials.
