Personal post but it’s been our first vacation since last fall. I often find it’s not till you actually sit down for that first deep breath unplugging from work that you realize how much you needed it. It also makes me greatful for the rockstar team I can lean on while out of the office. My kids are in that special time of life where I value time with them most of all. Take the time, play a board game with them, eat s’mores and laugh. Everyday is a gift.

🏖️🌴☀️ Things I re-learned after taking time off to reboot this July... ☀️🌴🏖️ 💤 Rest begets rest 💤 💕 In-person hugs make my heart happy 🤗❤️ 🌊 Connection with nature - especially the beach - for more than an hour fills my tank 🌿🌊 🚗 Road trips open me up for clearing my head and to deeper conversations - especially with the CHANGES deck as a prompt (thank you Michael Diettrich-Chastain) 💡🚗 ⏰ It takes me at least a week for my mind and body to recognize I am on vacation 🔌🧠 🎤 Carpool karaoke with friends and family is one of my most favorite past times 🎶🚗 ❤️ Listening to my intuition and following the gentle nudges and taking the right next step creates opportunity. 👀 Modeling rest and time off helps others say yes to their needs too 👥💪 🌟 Truth be told, the most significant re-learning I've had is the importance of walking the talk when it comes to taking time off and recharging. By prioritizing our own well-being, we set an example for others to make rebooting a priority for themselves. When we show that rest and self-care are essential, our teams and colleagues are more likely to follow suit. Let's lead by example and inspire a culture where taking time off is celebrated, and rejuvenation is embraced! 🌟 🤔 How about you? What do you re-learn each time you take time off and reboot? 🤔

Where is your common ground with family, friends, and team members? As our family keeps getting older, our perspectives, passions and pastimes often diverge. We have less in common than when my wife and I were in our 30s and the kids were all young. But those differences have actually stengthened our bonds. We realize that we can respect and appreciate each other’s perspectives and interests, even when they don’t align with ours. But we are also intentional about finding time to spend together, including our annual three or four day family vacation. It’s all centered around things we all enjoy… Like hanging out at a lake, playing games, eating ice cream, and enjoying a round of mini golf. Effective teambuilding, just like family relationships, requires give-and-take, trusting motivations, respecting others, and a good chunk of empathy. But I’ve also found that there’s incredible value in digging deep to find the common ground. To find those things that the entire team agrees upon, is interested in, or enjoys doing. It’s so invigorating for our family, and for any team, to be doing something together where you know everybody is enjoying themselves and nobody is having to put up with something. I’ve been off of LinkedIn for the past few days, and this picture represents why. These are the most important people in my life and we are bound by mini golf. What is your “mini golf” for your family, friends, or team members? What is it that thing you all enjoy or rally around? If you can figure that out, you hold the keys to better relationships, and greater engagement. And, yes, fueled by my daughter, we did bet on who would win, which is sort of our “unright” thing. And let’s just say it was not me :-) #minigolf #familyvacation #lakelife #theunrightthing #teambuilding

Helping professionals in high-paced jobs gain control over their workload with actionable tips and systems, freeing up time to focus on what matters most.
When was the most productive time in my life? When I was only working 6 hours a day. Here’s why👇 During the pandemic, our kid's daycare closed, and my wife and I had to juggle two demanding workloads while managing our two-year-old at home. Instead of relying on screen time, we designed a daily itinerary for him - painting, letter tracing, sports, nature walks, and more. This left us with three 2-hour work blocks each day. And guess what happened? - 𝐖𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞-𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠: With only 2-hour sprints, distractions were a luxury we couldn’t afford. - 𝐖𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝: Saying "no" became essential, not just a nice-to-have skill. - 𝐖𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Letting go and trusting others became a necessity. The results? Two exceeding ratings, a promotion, a job function shift, a very happy kid (with a sick jump shot), and... we even welcomed a new addition to our family! I'm sharing this not to brag, but to highlight the power of time-boxing. When under pressure: 𝟔 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 > 𝟏𝟐 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. Have you experienced something similar? "I just realized I'm saving over 300+ hours a year by this decision! Chris, thank YOU!!!" I smiled big as I received this message (kinda like in this pic). 😁 Meet Dan, a fellow business owner and a true family man. He recently shared an incredible win that I had to spotlight - because it could be you. With a simple yet powerful decision, he's taking a half-day off every week from now on. 🤯 What does this mean for Dan? It's about spending more quality time with his wife and kids, pursuing his passions, and simply enjoying life outside of work. Imagine this: 6 extra hours every week, which adds up to over 300 precious hours a year! 🎯 This life-changing choice was made possible during our coaching through my FREEDOM Business System by learning how to better systematize, eliminate unnecessary tasks, automate processes, and delegate effectively. No more 60+ hour workweeks for Dan. It's not about working harder; it's about working smarter. 💯 Dan's story is living proof that more family moments and time freedom are within your reach. I don't know about you, but I can't believe we're already halfway through October. While I don't know where the time has gone, I want to be more intentional about how I spend it going forward. I love thinking about being the pilot of our time. It suggests that we can invest our time to create a flight plan that gets us to where we want to go. Hour by hour, day by day, month by month, we can spend our time moving us toward the place we want to be - not just the place life takes us. My flight plan involves continuing to build a company where we take care of people - our employees, our consultants, our families and ourselves. I want to spend my time cultivating this type of culture and community. So where's your destination? Is it a job you love waking up for on Monday morning? A more balanced life? A place where you can focus more on yourself? If you don't have the answer to this question yet, it's ok. Just remember. You're in the driver's seat.

☀️ Happy First Day of Summer.... the season of endless sunshine, BBQs, and that weird tan line you get from mowing the lawn. Today marks the official start of three months where the biggest debate is: Pool or Beach? To celebrate, here are some essential tips for making the most of this glorious season: ~Sunscreen is Your BFF: Apply generously! Unless you're going for that lobster look—then, by all means, proceed. ~Hydrate Like It’s Your Job: And no, iced coffee doesn’t count (sadly). Water is your friend. ~Outdoor Meetings: Transform that conference call into a poolside pow-wow. Just keep the splashing to a minimum—clients can hear that, you know. ~Wardrobe Upgrade: Hawaiian shirts are now considered business casual. If anyone questions you, send them our way. ~Networking Opportunities: BBQs, beach volleyball, and bonfires. It's amazing how much business you can discuss over a s'more. Whether you're planning a staycation or heading out on a grand adventure, make sure to soak up every sun-soaked moment. And remember, summer is a state of mind—so wear that sunscreen, sport those shades, and embrace the season with a smile (and maybe a margarita). Cheers to an amazing summer! 🍹🌴 P.S. – Don’t forget to stock up on popsicles for those intense brainstorming sessions. They’re scientifically proven to boost creativity. (Okay, maybe not scientifically, but they sure do taste good.)

🌟 Welcome back, everyone! Today marks the first day for many who enjoyed a nice summer break. We hope you're feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. We wanted to extend a special shoutout to the incredible team at Prima, particularly our dedicated EAP service, who have been working tirelessly to support your teams during this time of year. Here's some tips to help you and your team start the year strong... 1️⃣ Start with a positive mindset - embrace the start of the year and new week with a positive attitude. 2️⃣ Prioritise and plan - the easiest way to get back into the swing of things is to create a to-do list. This helps you remember what's on your plate and feeling organised to get things done. 3️⃣ Talk with people - spend that first day checking in on colleagues, reading or hearing about important updates. 4️⃣ Break up your day - remember to give yourself short breaks throughout the day to recharge and maintain productivity. 5️⃣ Celebrate the wins - before you go all into 2024, take a moment to reflect on all the good things you've done. Happy First Day Back.

Happy friday! In my job, Friday mornings are usually “flight mornings”. Time to come home! Every week is unique. And this one was no different. Meetings, interactions, calls, discussions, and of course, new lessons. Conversely, I’d like to share a few things that are pretty much the same: 1- Planning 🗓️ I usually say that any trip starts a month before the flight. Remember, I’m not on vacation. Check everything just so you serve a purpose. 2- Setbacks ⏱️Assess the risk of every appointment to fail. And make a plan B. In case of failure, collect the lessons, understand the root cause and move on. Sometimes, the field brings details that could not be spotted during the planning, so you might expect a different result to what you previously envisioned. No worries, it’s part of the game. 3- Team building 🤝 The time we spend together helps us draw closer to each other as we discuss about anything, share our beliefs, concerns, opinions. It’s a great time to connect, interact, and why not, make friends! Enjoy it! Have a nice weekend!
