For pregnant people, risk-appropriate care involves assessing health status and any potential risks associated with their pregnancy. This assessment helps determine the level of care needed, which can range from routine prenatal care for low-risk pregnancies to specialized care for high-risk pregnancies, such as those with pre-existing medical conditions or complications. As a father of four, I find this unacceptable.     According to the CDC, the maternal mortality rate among non-Hispanic Black Women stood at 69.9 deaths per 100,000 births — 2.6 times higher than that for non-Hispanic white women.   While the journey to motherhood is a beautiful one, these numbers call for deeper conversations around equitable maternal health. Knowing your risk factors, managing your health, and embracing comprehensive prenatal care are pivotal to ensuring a safe and healthy pregnancy.   Let’s not only create awareness but also advocate for initiatives that bridge the gap in maternal healthcare disparities and empower women with the knowledge and resources they need for a safer pregnancy and childbirth. I am excited to share that One Community Health has officially launched its Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP)! This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to expanding and enhancing prenatal care services for our community.   At One Community Health, we understand the critical importance of maternal health, an area that is often discussed but not always prioritized. Our strategic move to launch CPSP reflects our unwavering dedication to providing comprehensive and culturally competent care to pregnant patients throughout the entire journey of pregnancy—from conception to 60 days postpartum.   Why is this so crucial? Legislative events like the overturning of Roe v. Wade are spurring national conversations about how we might create more inclusive, holistic care for all. It's not just OBGYN, or pregnancy care either. Consumers want better healthcare at all stages of their life, as noted by an increase in investment in menopause and pelvic health. I am thrilled to see how this shift brings better health outcomes to 50% of the world. What women's health care problems be tackled next?
