All articles in Journal of Personalized Medicine MDPI (ISSN 2075-4426) Vol 14, Issue 3, are now freely available to access, read and download: https://brnw.ch/21wIWAJ COVER STORY: Sepsis is one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Despite the remarkable advances in modern medicine throughout the last century, the mortality rates associated with sepsis have remained significantly elevated, both in high- and low-income countries. The main difficulty in the diagnosis and treatment of septic patients is the tremendous heterogeneity of this condition. The vast heterogeneity that characterizes sepsis ranges from its clinical presentation to the biological aspects of the disease. Evidence-based medicine approaches sepsis as a homogenous syndrome and does not consider the individual discrepancies between septic patients. This approach by researchers at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy may contribute to the poor outcomes of such patients. In recent years, personalized medicine has gained significant interest. Read more: https://brnw.ch/21wIWAJ #mdpi #openaccess #sepsis #research

In July, the National Institutes of Health announced the launch of four clinical trials to test the safety and effectiveness of potential long COVID treatments. While these trials are ongoing, a study by the Sagol Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Research at Shamir Medical Center and Tel Aviv University published in Scientific Reports last year revealed a promising treatment for long COVID symptoms. That treatment protocol, which demonstrated a real solution for COVID long haulers, is available now as part of the comprehensive Aviv Medical Program. Our scientifically-backed medical program offers patients holistic care to treat a variety of symptoms related to long COVID. After undergoing our post-COVID treatment program, our clients report significant improvement in their cognitive function, including: • Reduced brain fog • Improved memory and attention • Boosted energy levels • Reduced pain and fatigue • Improved mood and better sleep Click here to hear their success stories: https://bit.ly/3HTZeB7 #avivclinics #longcovid #longcovidresearch #brainfog

It is great to see our prospective cohort study (RESORT) involving 1890 patients finally published! Our results showed the number of discharge medications, central nervous system/psychotropics and fall risk potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) were significantly associated with 30-day hospital readmission, and cardiovascular potential prescribing omissions (PPOs) with 12-month mortality. Wonderful collaboration with authors Alemayehu B Mekonnen, Esmee M. Reijnierse, Cheng Hwee Soh, Wen Kwang Lim and Andrea B. Maier https://lnkd.in/g8XbY9K6
