Back from an Epic Vacation: A Big Thank You to Our Awesome Team, Clients, and Partners!
Hey all! I just got back from the most amazing vacation (Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, you do it RIGHT). I felt compelled to make a quick post about how grateful I am as I return. The dream combo of Sprocket's world-class team, our incredible clients, and our rock-solid partners is what enabled this vacation.
Great Team: Thank you to the team who STEPPED UP while I was out. I am so impressed with your innovation, intelligence, and experience. Nothing beats coming back to a feeling of excitement and confidence!
Great Clients: We work with the BEST clients. I know this because I see how collaborative and cutting-edge you are during our projects. Beyond that, each and every one of you encouraged me to truly step away for this trip. To all our clients, past, present, and future, thank you for placing your trust in us! Let's keep rocking together!
Great Partners: Shoutout to our incredible partners who have our backs and add value to what we do. You're such a valuable part of our equation!
Huge thanks to you all!

How do we keep our brains sharp at Mayflower? 📚✏️
Here's our not-so-secret recipe for staying on the same wavelength:
- Daily Team Huddles. Quick, like a ninja! 🥋
- Grooming Sessions. Not for hair, but for ideas💡🤔
- Tech Talks. Our experts spill the beans for an hour ☕🗣️
- Annual Presentations. The grand slam of what we did and what's next 📊🚀
- Quarterly Demos. It's show-and-tell but for grown-ups 🎪
- Internal Conference - The Expedition. A yearly journey through our company's different areas. Like a treasure hunt, but for knowledge! 🏴☠️🔍
These have worked wonders, but hey, we're hungry for more! 🍔🧠
So, spill the beans - what are your go-to knowledge-sharing methods?👇

✈️ Cruising Altitudes
We’re taking off into a new year at Punchcard.
Every March, we take time to celebrate and look back on the year that was with a team retreat.
Last year, our theme was Adventure Awaits, and we couldn’t be more proud of what we achieved.
This year, it’s about enjoying the journey, appreciating how far we’ve come and looking forward to what’s yet to be explored.
We know that together we can navigate the skies of innovation and opportunity, with the steadiness and elegance of a first-class flight.
Besides, who doesn’t love a good metaphor?

For Michael and I, scaling Planwell has never been about growing as fast as possible.
Instead, it’s been about growing as *smart* as possible.
Here are three culture-things we’ve implemented to keep thoughtful growth instead of growth-at-all-costs:
1️⃣ Team shoutouts
This comes from my Lessonly (now Seismic Learning) days (thanks, Max!). At the end of our weekly team call on Tuesdays, we each take just a few minutes to celebrate each other’s efforts and wins over the past week.
2️⃣ Summer hours
We aren’t working past noon on Fridays this summer. Why? Because we don’t want to. We want our team to spend time with their friends and family, catch up on personal activities, or do nothing at all with this time back.
3️⃣ Monthly team outings
Colleen brought this idea to Planwell, and I love it. Last month, we got breakfast all together. This month, we’re making candles. Pretty sure Michael will make us all go golfing with him at some point this summer.

I help EU entrepreneurs get US clients | Grow your American audience, influence & income via Linkedin | Follow for posts on intercultural sales & marketing, entrepreneurship, personal growth
One thing I love about being an entrepreneur is the chance to meet and help other entrepreneurs... and to learn from them too!
And it's why I'm thrilled to be mentoring at BigBooster's #BoosterCamp for the 1st time!
Here are some of the key points from Day 1, for companies looking to expand into the US :
🔹When launching, you have 2 levels of development:
At home: Companies who have gone before you + organizations in your home country
Abroad: local networks, partners, and hires. Leverage both.
🔹Hiring local people is key to have a local network, and master local business practices and culture.
🔹Start switching your company culture to English as early as possible. It makes things easier in the long run.
🔹Be able to explain your product/service in a short simple way. It makes getting clients easier.
🔹Ask yourself "Why do I want to expand to the US?" To generate more revenue? To gain credibility? As a step to the next round? ...your reason will determine where you go exactly and how you'll do it.
🔹Selling from abroad without a base in the US can be complicated, especially if you ship physical products (looooong delivery times!)
🔹Knowing how to sell to Americans and the way they reason is one of the biggest challenges you'll need to deal with.
And I'll report back with more lessons after Day 2!
