This is hilarious https://lnkd.in/gsxFqTsV So many companies employing/utilizing/adopting tech, wanting to classify themselves as tech companies. Tesla = Automotive company, you implement tech in the cars, and they are electric, but it's still a car. Cabin, doors, windows, seats, tires, rims, driver?... sounds like an automobile to me. Capital One = A Bank. You have a website, data centers, and innovate on existing tech to leverage for your business... but you are a Bank providing banking services physically and digitally, like every other bank. I'm sure there will be comments stating the contrary about the classification (general opinions) of these companies.

Jun 13, 2024, 4:23 PM EDT Several Tesla shareholders are accusing Elon Musk and the company’s board of knowingly diverting talent and resources away from the company and directing it toward Musk’s rival artificial intelligence company, xAI. In a lawsuit, the shareholders allege that Musk and the board breached their fiduciary duty to Tesla by launching xAI, which was founded in 2023 on the premise of understanding “the true nature of the universe.” The plaintiffs filed their lawsuit in Delaware, where the company is still incorporated, only hours before Tesla shareholders are set to vote on a proposal to reincorporate the company in Texas after a Delaware court judge voided Musk’s enormous pay package. The lawsuit was first reported by Business Insider and TechCrunch. The plaintiffs include the Cleveland Bakers and Teamsters Pension Fund as well as two individual shareholders, Daniel Hazen and Michael Giampietro, on behalf of Tesla itself. They note that, for years, Musk has sought to position Tesla not as a car company but as a robotics and AI powerhouse. The claim helped propel Tesla’s stock price, resulting in the company’s value exceeding that of top automakers combined. All the while, Musk was “diverting scarce talent and resources from Tesla to xAI, and raised billons of dollars for xAI while touting xAI’s access to Tesla’s AI-related data,” the lawsuit reads. Last week, xAI raised $6 billion in its initial funding round, which it said it will use to bring its first products to market. He also got #workers accustomed to long hours and fewer protections, after clashing with U.S. regulators over labor conditions at his #California plant. The #Shanghai factory helped make Tesla the most valuable #car company in the world and Mr. Musk ultrarich. But Tesla is now struggling. Mr. Musk helped create his #competition, Chinese E.V. makers that are taking market share and becoming a security concern for the United States and #Europe. Tesla benefited from a Chinese policy it helped shape. In California, where Tesla launched its first car in 2008, the company has profited from an #emissions mandate that allows it to sell credits — billions of dollars worth of them — to #automakers that cannot meet pollution targets. As Mr. Musk turned to China, his #lobbyists encouraged leaders there to adopt a similar policy. About one year ago (July 23) Elon Musk announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence startup, xAI, with the goal of “understanding the universe.” He said then that the new startup would “work closely” with Tesla. Today as Tesla sales and margin fall, he announces 10% layoff of Tesla workforce, the entry level Tesla 2 is said to be canceled, and a robotaxi is the new priority of the company, although this is not a mature nor mass market at all. Optimus, Tesla AI powered android robot should be available around 20.000 $ to 25.000 $ but not before 2027. Tesla's $70 Billion Plunge Tesla shares dropped 11% following Elon Musk's sobering sales growth warning. Investors need to know when and how to think outside the box in uncovering investment opportunities not front and center. Decipher words spoken into investment decisions potentially producing windfall profits. One such opportunity leading to a potential future windfall involves Tesla and news just released. While Tesla itself still is fighting investor and market headwinds, one element of Musk’s earnings analysis creates one great future investment opportunity. What am I referring to? This stated by Elon Musk. “If somebody doesn’t believe Tesla’s going to solve autonomy, I think they should not be an investor in the company,” Musk said on the earnings call. He added, “We will, and we are.” So how does this lead to a future potential big return? Investors could invest now in Tesla stock itself, hoping for big developments leading to big returns down the road for Tesla shareholders. But the other unidentified? That being investing in Uber. Why? Consider Elon Musk now the technology leader for autonomous development for Uber to introduce, implement company wide and reduce driver liabilities and expenses while capitalizing on being probably the first large developed company utilizing robotaxis. Does anyone believe Tesla has the ability to roll out autonomous vehicles as a controlled side company equal to the already dominant Uber app used world wide? This will be a big win for Tesla due to future fleet sales to entities such as Uber while Uber will reduce costs company wide while increasing dependability and eliminating driver sexual harassment possibilities or more in eliminating human drivers replaced by robotaxis. Tesla bears getting a reprieve today with an oversold short term bounce with recent shorts new to the game, covering and unable or experienced in having a short go against them. In the meantime the markets are trying to stem selling going into key earnings releases due between now and the end of the month. Markets open higher and then fade, a clear sign of consolidation. Before you throw the dice, cover as many numbers as possible and hope to avoid snake eyes as all eyes now are on Elon Musk for at least today.
