BADS Directory of Procedures National Dataset The BADS Directory of Procedures provides recommended day case rates for over 200 surgical procedures, arranged by specialty and defined using OPCS coding. The rates quoted are arrived at by a combination of reported practice from leaders in their field, actual rates from Hospital Episode Statistics figures and expert opinion. The National Dataset is produced in collaboration with Caspe Healthcare Knowledge Systems using their hospital benchmarking solution iCompare. It shows the day surgery performance of the top achieving 5% and 50% of English hospitals for all the operations listed in the BADS Directory of Procedures, with potential release of inpatient beds and cost savings achieved by maximising day case rates. Attempting to use transparency data to benchmark facility (hospital and ambulatory surgery center) pricing is no small order. In fact, as Scott Bennett, Senior Vice President, Provider Relations, explains in his recent article for Benefits Pro, "Benchmarking medical prices with payer transparency files," facility rates in Payer Transparency in Coverage files (otherwise known as TIC files) often do not reflect rates that the original payer-provider contracts would yield, and thus are only part of the solution for researching hospital prices. https://lnkd.in/e77-cxsW

🔸 Call flow tips in line with the new GP contract🔸 ▪️ Add a menu option for appointment cancellations, prioritising these to the front of your queue. This ensures same day appointments can then be offered to patients ▪️ Add a * or # key press for Healthcare Professionals that goes to the relevant groups rather than via reception ▪️ Reconfigure menu options and prompt patients that menu options have changed so they don’t press the wrong option “as they always just press 1” ▪️ Implement Patient Callback for the busiest groups ▪️ Add an SMS to your call flow so patients can choose to receive a link to a resource, for example prescriptions, if your prescription line is open between certain hours at other times patient can be texted the link to order their prescription online. Whilst this tip list will not suit every customer’s needs it offers an insight into the configurability of Surgery Connect. #SurgeryConnect #cloudtelephony #primarycare #generalpractice #NHS #digitalhealth

Patient Story - Man with Heart Condition Finds Relief After Effective Drug Reduces Need for Surgery Imagine driving into a highway tunnel, only to find a series of orange traffic cones narrowing the two-lane roadway to a single artery. When traffic is light, there’s no problem – you can proceed through the tunnel unimpeded. But if it’s rush hour, the roadway gets jammed and your journey is delayed, making it difficult to make your way to the other side. That’s how Milind Desai, MD, MBA, describes the flow of blood as it traveled through the heart of one of his patients, 71-year-old Larry Candiotti, due to a heart muscle-thickening condition called obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM).
