This episode Layne Compton PT, DPT came to the “studio” to chat about a real hot topic! We discussed our past residency together, passions for primary care physical therapy and the benefits of being co-located with primary care providers. We also discussed the challenges of outpatient PT patient load and the importance of patient independence in outpatient PT. The future of primary care physical therapy, emphasizing the importance of a preventative and autonomous model of primary care. We also discussed the impact of residency on their understanding of patient care and the importance of recognizing the patient's perspective and life experiences. We shared insights on primary care PT and the importance of patient communication and education. We emphasized the need for primary care PT to be a common practice and not a niche one.

Catalin Voiculescu, who co-presented with Dr. Cristian Adrian Silosi, demonstrated several venous ulcer cases and how he managed them from a nursing point of view.  Cătălin Voiculescu emphasized the importance of patient education on how to properly wear compression stockings as part of conservative therapy. 🌟 Reflecting on my experience running an outpatient department serving over 1,000 patients a day amid a doctors' strike 🌟 At our hospital, we believe in the power of healing and the importance of compassionate care. Recently, we faced the unique challenge of providing medical services during a doctors' strike. Here are some lessons we learned along the way: 1. Prioritization of Care: We prioritized care based on the severity of patients' conditions, ensuring those with urgent needs were seen first. 3. Holistic Care: We addressed patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, offering prayer and counseling alongside medical care. 5. Patient Education: We empowered patients with information on self-care and available alternatives for minor ailments.
