Is it me, or does Workday not have the concept of a user profile that sits above corporate sites? It seems like a huge UX problem to solve right now. Why do I need to connect to LinkedIn (which consistently pulls over scrambled info, misses or disorganizes key data points, or just plain does not work)—when I could have my own profile that is already connected to all of the companies I used to work for that use Workday? * Applying for a UX lead role at Workday now...*
With a 99+% chance of rejection - who is still applying to workday hosted opportunities?
They’re all like this: Greenhouse, Lever, BambooHR, Zoho, etc.
Simple answer, job applicants aren't their customer.
We should build a better ATS.
Multi Tenancy but in reverse... even in traditional multi-tenancy configurations (B2B2B) there is a ton of complexity. I cant imagine how complicated a global consumer account would be across multiple workday tenants. Im sure there is a much better solution than what they have now though... they can start by not forcing applicants to make a new account for each workday tenant for sure.
I swear to god 😥 I use simplify to fill in my information, but the whole process of creating an account very time is so TIRING
They know where their bread is buttered, and it’s not the employee experience.
The most rational reason I could guess at is that what you're proposing (which yes, seems like a no-brainer from a candidate UX POV) is that there is regulatory red tape around persisting some of the PII with a typical Workday application submission, so some data fencing around certain info is deemed necessary (especially if a given candidate has to tweak the CV details they enter enough for each opening).

1moSeems like a no brainer from the job seeker standpoint, but I imagine the ux for the HR/recruiter side is more of a priority since that caters more directly to their source of revenue. There probably just isn’t as much of an urgent incentive to make the candidate experience better, although I bet it would definitely help with their brand reputation. Would also love to see some sort of option for better resume/profile parsing, especially now that the training of AI models for specific use cases has become so accessible and widespread. If we can detect wildfires as they start to smolder or find cells at risk of becoming cancerous before the naked eye can make out the difference via machine learning, one would think ATS should be a solved problem, haha
