🌐 Palmer Luckey, the innovative mind behind Oculus VR, is now reshaping the US military landscape with his startup, Anduril Industries. Founded in 2017 and backed by industry giants like Peter Thiel’s Palantir Technologies, Anduril is pioneering with surveillance towers, drones, and AI-driven border security solutions. 🛡️💡

🎙️ You MUST WATCH the latest episode of Bloomberg , The Circuit with Emily Chang , here: https://lnkd.in/gY3dwrCr
The US defense industry has a long and conflicted history with both startups and #SiliconValley . After World War II, #billions of dollars in #defense funding transformed California into a land of #aerospace and #technology boomtowns. But as Luckey sees it, the #relationship splintered after the Cold War. Engineers dazzled by the prospect of #stockmarket riches ditched dour #government jobs for shiny tech firms with free snacks and Ping-Pong. "This muscle we used to have as a country of turning small, innovative defense companies into large-scale providers of weapons—we lost it," Luckey said. As a result, the defense industry has become increasingly dominated by a handful of “primes,” including Boeing and Lockheed Martin. To Luckey, it’s an oligopoly in which new ideas are thwarted by layers of #bureaucracy, leaving US defense capabilities to suffer as a result. "Some of the US technology is very bad," he says. "It’s also extremely expensive and not necessarily adapted to the types of conflicts we’re going to see in the future. The US has a lot of investment in legacy weapons systems that are not necessarily having China quaking in their boots." Breaking through that bureaucracy and getting the Pentagon to pay attention has been a challenge, Luckey says, and his controversial reputation likely hasn’t done him any favors.
On this episode of The Circuit, Luckey shows off his personal #warship (a purchase from the #USNavy), an Autopia car from the classic #Disneyland ride and floor-to-ceiling fish tanks at home in Newport Beach, California. He also talks about his nitrogen-filled nuclear missile silo in which he stores what he says is the biggest #videogame collection in the world. 🎮⚓️
🤔💭 I said and I repeat , Palmer Luckey is one of the most brilliant minds 🧠 of his generation and Anduril Industries is likely to become one of the most valuable companies in the world🌟🔍

When asked about the power of Why, I always refer to "Moonshot" speach by USA president JFK!
in 1961 JFK challenged the entire US nation to support the American extremely high cost & challenging space program with a speach that only tackled the "Why"

After years of working in marketing and assisting with trade shows, I got my first experience managing a booth on my own. Those of you who do trade show operations have my immense respect, as you always have, but my respect goes deeper working it start to finish.
Things I learned:
1. Bring both a 6' and an 8' table cloth (And buy an 8' table cloth in advance)
2. Consider how you will carry all of it from your car, especially if it rains
3. Events aren't dead and they never will be because meeting people face to face, shaking their hands, and having a genuine conversation is 100x better than any email or social media post.
We were excited to take part in the Vets4Vets event at the Vystar Memorial Arena in Jacksonville this weekend. Not only did we get to meet a lot of wonderful veterans and families, but we got to see several of our local partner organizations and be introduced to some new ones. Lots more growth to come!

Hey LinkedIn 😎 I don't post enough here, but figured this is a perfect opportunity!
To the Type A observer, my career probably looks like an unfocused pursuit of shiny desires without a sustained dedication to a singular industry.
To that Type A observer: Kudos—you ain't wrong. But there's a thread-through if you dig deeper.
My professional career has been defined by pivotal moments in my personal, professional, and political life. Sometimes it's not clear whether to stay the path; other times, continuing is the only path. Sometimes all empirical evidence is shouting "Zig, dammit!" And sometimes the universe cackles and sprinkles a ten ton Zag. Sometimes you spend a 9 month season in black, busted open Air Force 1's, bussing tables and waking up every morning on a deflated air mattress on hardwood floors in a Harlem apartment, crafting a songwriting syllabus with *zero* concrete plans of where or how to implement it, and definitely zero knowledge that months later you'd be selected to be a teaching artist fellow at Columbia University as a result of that same syllabus. Sometimes you get selected to be a teaching artist fellow on the exact same day that you find out you're going to be a travel host for Rolling Stone magazine.
To the Type A observer, I clearly need to "pick a lane." Stay ten toes down. Keep my eye on the prize.
But the Type B observer probably understands the prize: I'm a maker, a sharer, and a collaborator. The "prize" has always been a robust expression of my ideas, packaged professionally at the highest level available to me. Songwriting as a craft allows me to say what is true, to present it with a goal of greatness, and to share it with the world alongside generous collaborators. I'm an award winning copywriter because it allows me to say what is true, to present it with a goal of greatness, and to share it alongside generous collaborators. I'm a voice actor, script writer, songwriting school founder, recording artist, and on camera presenter because they're all ways to express what is true, present it with a goal of greatness, and share with the world alongside generous collaborators.
To my Type A readers: I have so much to learn from you. I admire your focus toward difficult ends. I deeply respect your upholding of standards and boundaries. In the right conditions, we make an unstoppable team.

Huge thank you to Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and Twin City Media for the collaboration and opportunity. If you're a Chamber member, go get tickets! You won't wanna miss it!
Greensboro is place that you’re proud to call home, and it’s no secret our community is growing – set to be a powerhouse in manufacturing, aerospace, and more.
