Happy New Year!
In my previous position, celebrating Chinese New Year or Tet was always a tradition. Everyone would wear appropriate attire, me included, and meet in front of one of the main manufacturing plant to light fireworks. Honestly, I am not sure how this got done every year because there were a ton of firecrackers on a major street in Southern California. I remember doing this for over a decade and to this day I can clearly recall conversations from various years with friends and colleagues during the fireworks or leading up to them.
I always discuss how working to improve longevity is a fantastic aspiration, but always remember that life isn't about how much time you get; it's about how you fill that time with experiences that truly matter and special days are truly that; special. I have moved on from that position now, but I hope that I never lose the memories I have from that time.
A few key takeaways from my past celebrations:
โถ๏ธ People you meet in life are supposed to teach you something, so make the effort to talk to everyone no matter what position they hold in your company.
โถ๏ธ There are always good moments to cherish even in the most difficult circumstances; don't fixate on only the negatives.
โถ๏ธ Embrace things that are not what you are used to. Seeing life through someone else's eyes or culture, even for a day, can provide new perspectives and insights.
โถ๏ธ No one tells you during the good times that these are the good times, so try to live each day like it's the best day you are going to have and see how your life improves.
โถ๏ธ Your life is a book with many chapters; it's good to go back from time to time to remember special places, people, and experiences.
I hope everyone celebrating today has a Happy New Year! Wishing you prosperity, health, happiness, love, and fulfillment. May the Year of the Dragon be full of joy and laughter. Thank you for that quote, Diana L. you are one of the special people I got to know. ;-)
P.S. โป๏ธ Repost this so we can all grow faster โ together.
