Mohit Bhende’s Post

Visiting Karat’s customers takes me all over the globe, but I have a special place in my heart for last week’s stop in #Pittsburgh – my hometown! It may surprise you to learn that the “City of Bridges” ranks 5th in the U.S. for having the highest concentration of top-performing software engineers based on technical interview performance, while more than a quarter of candidates are considered top-performing globally. And as an especially strong location for early career hiring given proximity to top computer science programs, Pittsburgh should be a key part of any #engineering leader’s #hiring strategy. Karat customer Duolingo is just one amazing example of the city’s #techtalent as they make language learning a bridge to opportunity for millions around the world. Pictured here with Karat’s VP of Strategy John Phillip Loof at the company’s taqueria. Highly recommend visiting this unique human + tech space. Muchisimas gracias Natalie Glance and Sean Colombo for the partnership and inspiring conversation with other #tech leaders in the community. ¡Hasta la próxima vez!
