Molina Healthcare of Nevada is committed to ensuring mothers and babies have a healthy start. A 2023 report found that the preterm birth rate among babies born to Black mothers is 1.4 times higher than the average. That’s why we’re constantly working to reduce health disparities and expand access to quality health care in Nevada. https://bit.ly/3zrkImO As part of our commitment, we presented a $100,000 donation to Birth Collaborative LV. The investment will fund 40 scholarships to train the next generation of community perinatal doulas in Southern Nevada. This investment will support expecting mothers and their newborns, as research shows that doula intervention can improve birthing outcomes and increase well-being and satisfaction during the birthing process. https://bit.ly/3zrkKeq Birth Collaborative LV is one of 29 community-based organizations and providers Molina is supporting with $2.8 million in grants to improve access to health care and social services for under-resourced communities in Clark and Washoe Counties.
