Stay cool this summer by wearing light colors and loose clothing! While dark color clothing attracts heat and makes you feel warmer, light colors reflect the sun and keep you cooler. Loose clothes let air move around, keeping you cooler. Don’t forget to wear hats, sunglasses and sunscreen for extra protection. 👒 Slap on a hat. Hats come in all different shapes and sizes, so it can be difficult to know what offers the best protection from the sun. 👒 Caps and sun visors are some of the most popular hats on the market, however they are not considered sun protective hats. There are 3 important features to look for when selecting a hat that will provide the best sun protection. ☀️ Choose a hat that is made of sun protective material that meets the Australian Standards - AS 4399:2020. ☀️ Ensure your hat has a wide brim that provides coverage for your face, ears, neck and shoulders. ☀️ If buying a straw hat, look for one with a fabric lining. Look for swing tags or labels that show the #UPF rating. A UPF rating of 50 or 50+ will provide the highest degree of sun protection. Stay #sunsafe and always remember to wear a hat in addition to wearing other #sun protective clothing, using #sunscreen, seeking shade, and wearing sunglasses that meet the Australian standards. How To Clean Leather Garments At Home Leather has been a generational go between smart and casual, bridging the gap between something you can wear to the office and continue to wear on your Friday night happy hour with your colleagues after hours. The oil that gives these garments their “glossy” appearance can also be the downfall to the lifespan of these garments. Washing at home with traditional detergents can remove the oils, weaken the fabrics and leave them vulnerable to tearing and being deeply spoiled by stains. Breathable fabrics such as cotton and linen which enable your skin to breathe in the heat. 2. Avoid wearing synthetic fabrics, such as polyester and faux leather. They are too heavy on the skin in the summer. 3. #weartheshorts ! That’s all! ;-) 4. Bellowing flowing fabrics are effortlessly stylish in the sunshine. Go for big sleeves and wide leg pants! 5. Avoid wearing tight fitting clingy clothes. They are uncomfortable in the heat! 6. Wear a sun hat! Look fabulous and protect your skin from the sun. 7. Protect your eyes with oversized sunglasses. (Make sure they have UV protection) 8. Wicker/raffia bags are a great alternative to leather bags in the heat. They conduct less heat and are lighter to carry 9. Wear light sandals or flip flops. Before the summer's sizzling heat, let's talk about the dangers of not wearing the proper uniform during these scorching days. 👟 No to Flip Flops: Wearing open-toed shoes might seem like a great idea, but it can lead to accidents and foot injuries at work. Safety first! 👔 Light Fabrics Matter: Opt for lightweight, breathable uniforms. Heavy clothes can lead to heatstroke and discomfort. 💧 Stay Hydrated: Not wearing the right uniform can make you sweat more, increasing the risk of dehydration. Keep that water bottle handy! 🌞 Sunburn Alert: If your uniform doesn't offer sun protection, you're at risk of sunburn. SPF and protective clothing are your best friends! 🩳 Dress Code Matters: Wearing inappropriate attire can hurt your professional image and even your career. Stay sharp and comfortable by adhering to the dress code. Remember, staying safe and comfortable at work during the hot season is essential. Dress appropriately, stay hydrated, and prioritize your well-being. When working in extremely cold conditions, wearing eye and face protection is just as important as wearing appropriate clothing. Windchill temperature from -28o C can freeze exposed skin in 30 minutes or less, and when this temperature continues to drop, exposed skin can freeze in as fast as 5 minutes. When using eye protection, select the protective eye wear that is appropriate for the work you are doing, and for protection against ultraviolet light from the sun, glare from the snow, blowing snow or ice crystals, and high winds. Make sure to separate the eye protection from your nose and mouth to prevent exhaled moisture from fogging and frosting eye shields or glasses. Always protect yourself when working outdoors in winter➡ https://bit.ly/48toEAf #winter #safetymatters #pei
