We are delighted to introduce our organisational strategy for 2024-2028! 🌟 Over the last 15 years, IASP has prepared and advanced a vibrant strategy that reflected and targeted current needs of addressing suicidal behaviour and its prevention across the globe. By incorporating an external evaluation and carefully listening to the membership and partners, the Board embarked on a strategic process to formulate organisational direction for 2024 – 2028 that reflects the growing need to reduce suicides. Through this process, the new vision and mission of the organisation was determined. This strategy is a continuum of the previous strategies and extends to meet higher demands in low- and middle-income countries where suicides are more predominant and resources more limited. Our focus is on key organisational concepts of inclusivity, diversity and sustainability as a priority, as well as a commitment to collaborative partnerships that spearhead joint action and positive results. Is your "why" stronger than your fears? This is something my coach/supervisor challenged me with recently. I'd been feeling "stuck" in taking action with my business. Fear of getting it wrong, self-doubt/imposter syndrome getting in the way (oh the joys of being a business owner) And after that conversation, I realised I was allowing my fears to be louder than my "whys". So I started focusing on my why. Why did I choose to start Kindred Consulting? Because I want to see systemic change and people thriving in communities and workplaces. I am tired of seeing so many social workers/psychs/community workers/people helpers burnt out and depleted...generally not because of the people we support but because of the lack of support and systems that consistently fail the people they are meant to "help". I am tired of seeing leaders who are not equipped with the tools and resources to support their staff well to be able to create a psychologically safe work environment. I am tired of organisations not having the right systems in place to create mentally healthy workplaces!
