Streamlining processes and prioritizing backend digitalization is crucial for scalability, growth, and innovation, as Lars Zimmermann, Co-Founder of GovTech Campus Deutschland, adds. โญ ๐๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด: While early-stage funding is strong, finding support for industrialization and large-scale projects is challenging. But Bavaria is committed to tackling this issue. Munich boasts many great institutions. AI makes personal computing more accessible by understanding human language, reducing the need for coding skills. This shift democratizes innovation, offering SMEs a significant opportunity to enhance productivity and reduce skill-related inequalities. However, unexpected challenges like increased mental load also surfaced. One participant shared, "AI takes over repetitive tasks, leaving me with only the harder ones. Clean Tech advisor, VP & Board member French Tech Boston, ex-Managing Director SaaS at Dimagi, ex- McKinsey, Harvard Kennedy School, HEC Paris
๐ก What else could be more fascinating in Bostonโฆ .. than discussing with leaders from the top innovation and research centers at Harvard and MIT and tenacious entrepreneurs who developed and licensed Technologies from these Universities to build impactful Clean Techs! ๐ Thanks a lot Leon Sandler, Emily Stoler, Sidney McLaurin, Maher Damak, PhD, for accepting our invitation and for sharing fascinating insights on the journey to successful Tech company creation, with a specific focus on the sustainability space ๐ฟ . Key themes that stood out in this panel discussion: ๐ก The way universities organize themselves to embed industry expertise and market feedback into the research process ๐ค The co-creation process between companies and Universitiesโ research centers ๐ The amazing engines of those Universities to create tech companies through a well-oiled but also very selective spin-off and licensing process This was another great reflection on the unique characteristics of the Boston Tech ecosystem! A huge thank you to Shift Technology for hosting us in your beautiful office and to Jeremy Jawish for sharing fascinating insights about yours and Shift Technologyโs impressive growth and internationalization journey! #FrenchTechBoston #CleanTech
๐ Did you hear the buzz? Yesterday, we hosted our April French Tech Tuesday event, and it was an absolute blast! We discussed the fascinating realm of innovation flowing from prestigious US universities to the dynamic corporate landscape. A huge shoutout to our incredible panelists for generously sharing their time and insights: Leon Sandler: Strategic Advisor, MIT MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation Emily Stoler: Principal Scientist, Wyss Institute at Harvard University Maher Damak, PhD: CEO & Co-founder, Infinite Cooling (MIT spin-off) Sidney McLaurin: CEO & Co-founder, Fleet Robotics What we took away is that innovation isn't about navigating the "valley of death" ๐ต but rather crossing a desert. Being adequately prepared is the cornerstone of success ๐ฅ And in keeping with tradition, we spotlighted one of our FTB members to share their success story. Shift Technology graciously welcomed us into their beautiful brick offices in Boston, where CEO Jeremy Jawish shared the fascinating journey from idea to unicorn ๐ฆ, peppered with some hilarious anecdotes that resonated with us all ๐ We were also thrilled to have a special guest fly in all the way from Paris to join our community. Clara Devouassoux, thank you for making the trip and sharing this event with us. It's always a pleasure to connect with members of La French Tech! We can't wait to have you join us for more events and occasions in the near future! ๐ซ๐ทโจ #FrenchTechBoston, #FrenchTech

Happy to be part of this! As I describe in the Future Formula, innovation will be key to reinventing our society and economy. Of course, we need product and sourcing innovation (which most organizations are already focusing on). But what we really need is core innovation: adapting our (business) models to the world that is coming. I hope my presentation can help inspire people on this topic.

What does it mean for a startup to attend CES, the most influential tech event in the world? To many, it may signify a breakthrough, a debut on the world's stage, or an aspiration to be amongst the crรจme de la crรจme of tech innovators. However, as Prabhat Agarwal (Senior Director Research & Trends at Consumer Technology Association) wisely quoted in the Dutch Newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, "Think of your coming to CES as one step in the evolution of your business. This will not be your big breakthrough to the U.S." For Whispp, attending CES is not about a defining moment of triumph but a continual journey of growth, learning, and innovation. Preparing to participate in CES for the second time symbolizes our commitment to pushing boundaries, learning from the global tech ecosystem, and refining our vision. It is a reaffirmation of our passion to bring forth pioneering solutions that resonate with the needs of tomorrow. In alignment with Mr. Agarwal's insights, we see our second appearance at CES as the next phase, the "second evolution of Whispp." We're not seeking an instant revolution but a steady and impactful evolution.

Having spent yesterday at the Techarenan I am amazed how much the Swedish innovation ecosystem has evolved during the past 20 years ๐ When I started to build our innovation support more than 20 years ago I dreamed about what we today see happening, so many players with the aim to enable the growth, so many international contacts and so many experienced entrepreneurs and investors creating value over and over again. Universities play a crucial role in the innovation ecosystem and we, too, need to lean in and innovate on ourselves. I am therefor happy to announce that to create even better opportunities for companies founded at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, KTH Innovation is now opening up for increased collaboration with more actors. "Different companies have different needs. We see a great benefit in being able to find more good matches to create the very best conditions for KTH companies to succeed," says Lisa Ericsson, Head of KTH Innovation. In connection with this new strategic direction, the exclusive partnership with Stockholm Innovation and Growth, Sting, which has existed since 2004, is concluded. Please reach out if you want to connect with us. I will be at Techarenan in our joint booth together with SU Innovation AB and KI Innovations AB or come listen to our panel at Bright Stage at 11:45-12:15 where we talk more on the topic of the role of universities in the ecosystem ๐ Read more: https://lnkd.in/dgVYPVtj #KTHInnovation #ItAllStartsHere #sthlmtech

Today is the start of FTI and& | 16 โ 20 March 2024, the Leuven chapter of Flanders Technology & Innovation. We, the Flemish, just like our Wallonian & Brussels' counterparts, we are seldomly proud, we shrug our shoulders and move on to the next thing. We are often prone to easy cynicism, focusing on things that could have been better. We're - on average - not the tech enthusiasts, rather reluctant to embrace change. It's what we tell ourselves. It's my hope this week can contribute to a different story. A story where we can use technology, not as a primary goal, but as a catalyst for the inhabitants of Flanders and beyond to thrive. A story, where we realise we are all talented in our own unique way. As one of the two curators of the festival, I'm proud that thousands of people in my home town will learn about technology and science, get a brain shower, and above all have fun. Exchanging different perspectives, coming together, that's where the magic happens, that's what makes us human. If we've done our job well, people will feel a spark for a positive future. Because that's what we need and it is within reach: We're the current generations, it's in our power to be an incredible force for good for ourselves, our children and the ones that still will be born, the future generations. Yes, we face tremendous challenges and we don't know if all of our efforts will be enough, and that in itself is scary. But if we have the courage to move forward, if we don't fall for cynicism and insecurity, I believe we can thrive. That's what "FTI" has meant to me for the last year. I hope to meet you this week, here at home in Leuven or in Antwerp next Sunday. #fti #ftileuven #timeforacelebration

๐ Just returned from the incredible Split Tech City Festival in Split, Croatia, and I'm truly inspired! ๐ This two-day event, which brought together tech fans, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders, was an example of innovation and insight. Here are my top takeaways from an impressive lineup of speakers and thought-provoking panels: ๐น Day 1 was all about unveiling insights with thought-provoking panels and lectures. We delved into launching a career in the IT sector during challenging times with Antonio Periฤ-Maลพar, Natasa Kapov, and Dunja Ivana Ballon, discussed the transition from junior to senior roles with Ante Dageliฤ, Mensur Durakoviฤ, and Ivan Listeลก, explored international cybersecurity careers with Biljana Cerin, and contemplated the future of AI with Ivan Biliลกkov. Antonio Periฤ-Maลพar provided wisdom that resonated with professionals of all ages. ๐น Day 2 was equally enlightening with discussions led by Ron Brumbarger, Blaลพ Periฤ, Ivana Periฤ, and Suzana ล pika on the challenges young professionals face in the IT industry. Mirela Petrovic and Antonio Periฤ-Maลพar shared valuable insights in their fireside chat. Jan B., Geoff Bratton, Sara Dyson, and Piero Palevsky highlighted Split's international tech potential. Andreas Spechtler provided a worldwide perspective on the critical variables driving success in the IT industry, and Aleks Jakulin investigated the future of marketing. Ivan Burazin's talk emphasized the value of embracing setbacks on the path to success and inspired my next blog post. The festival highlighted innovation, reminded us of technology's boundless possibilities, and encouraged us to accept change in the tech industry. Let the spirit of innovation from the STC Festival inspire our technological journeys. ๐๐ก ๐Read more: https://lnkd.in/dug8mtH3 #SplitTechCity #TechInnovation #EmbraceChange
