We're thrilled to share the outstanding results from our initial royalty payouts for the first half of 2023. Our platform has proven to be a game-changer in the music industry, delivering exceptional returns for our investors. 🎵 Highlight of the Season: Lauren Spencer Smith's “Fingers Crossed” 🎵 Produced and listed by the talented T.I Jakke, this track has been a phenomenal success, yielding an impressive annual return of approximately 47.2% in its first payout period. 🎶 Also Shining: Alvaro Soler’s “Sofia” 🎶 Another gem from T.I Jakke listed on the exchange, securing an annual return of approximately 10.67%. While most songs in our portfolio met the predicted royalty levels, we acknowledge the seasonal fluctuations in streaming. However, we're optimistic about the upcoming trends, especially for tracks like Alan Walker & Sorana’s “Lost Control”. Public trading on the platform is open and can be accessed at this link: https://bit.ly/3TZH5rJ

📺Finding new sync licensing companies to submit your music to is dope, but if you don’t have an organized way to keep track of them, things can get out of hand pretty quick. That’s why i recommend using something to keep track of your pitches. ⚾️I personally use my Sync Producer Pitch Tracker inside of Notion which allows you to make note of the company name, website, pitch status, deal type and reminder for follow-ups. 😴Do NOT sleep on the follow up. I’ve had music placed on the NAACP Image Awards 3 years in a row because of 1 simple follow up email. If you want a copy of this custom Notion template, just comment the word “TRACKER” and I’ll send you a message with the 🔗. #synclicensing #musiclicensing #productionmusic #tvplacements

BLOGGED! My thoughts on Bleichrodt's opinion in the Buma/Stemra v Associated Business Music Distributors Link Opinion: https://lnkd.in/dWxjpZXh Amsterdam Court of Appeal previously held that collective rights management organisation is liable for not stopping abuse of downstream licences. Bleichrodt AG argues that a more detailed analysis is required in the light of C‑525/16 MEO — Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia SA. Also interesting bits about market delineation. Conclusion: secondary-line discrimination might be notoriously difficult to prove and lead to uncomfortable situations where the upstream discriminator is legally unable to prevent abuses by downstream competitors of the injured undertaking, while the downstream competitors of the injured undertaking might not have a sufficient market share to fall under the scope of Art 102 TFEU. Quite the conundrum.

How do we value the music business? When I first started in the industry, I was always confused when artist managers quoted certain performance fees or labels decided to dole out a particular advance figure. The models for valuing so many key assets and services within the industry have historically been woefully informal and speculative at best. While traditional market investing or the VC business also relies on a degree of speculation in their valuation models, there's always a rationale or hypothesis that's backing how we arrive at the final figures. Over the next few weeks I'm going to dig deeper into how some of the most trailblazing companies are looking at remodelling the music industry's standards for valuation across catalogue, live, and brand associations. To start off with, I want to shed light on one of the most transformative and disruptive companies that the music industry has seen: Hipgnosis Song Management. Built on the fundamental premise that hit songs are long-term predictable assets that remain unaffected by market downturns and will increase in value as streaming grows, they're proving the value of music IP in a way that's both tangible and strikingly sizeable. If you're an artist, manager, label, legal, distributor or anyone with an inclination towards understanding the power of catalogue, IP, and rights ownership, this one is bound to be of value to you. Hit that link below to subscribe, I'll be sharing a full breakdown very soon :) Sheet music and spreadsheets go hand in hand. https://lnkd.in/gwZMdYZB #musicindustry #finance #ip #musicbusiness #acquisitions #rights #valuation
