There's a great post in this week's spotlight that covers the heightened privacy risks faced by users of sextech, exemplified by past data breaches exposing individuals on platforms like Grindr (and others). Catholic priests were outed in some cases simply for being gay, leading to resignations and serious consequences.
The potential for serious consequences such as job loss for people simply living their lives, as well as the financial hardship and social discrimination experienced by those in the pleasure industry when private information is exposed during data breaches. Collectively, we must avoid letting a limited perspective on who holds the authority to define morality dictate the quality of life for a significant portion of our population.
While discussions on privacy and data breaches have become an important aspect of the challenges folks are leveraging in pushing back against censorship, it's also key that we acknowledge that privacy concerns are not exclusive to this sector and that in a wider sense, there have been wide spread instances of consumer's privacy being exploited as a result of technological vulnerability along with corporate data collection activities.
This is a problem that won't be solved by legislation alone and we'll arrive at better solutions as more folks become informed and involved.

Quote of the week: "It often seems like the one constant of all human life is the tension between the breadth of our creativity when it comes to m@(s)turbation and the determination of our institutions to stifle it."
