Prior to joining the team at Understood.org, I never considered the collective value in a more inclusive and accessible workplace environment. Things as simple as creating and sharing agendas before meetings, designating note takers, and normalizing summarizing + verbalizing meeting takeaways in real time were often overlooked in my previous organizations. Creating more inclusive spaces for some really does benefit us all.
