The beauty of Amsterdam: Visiting Amsterdam, it's a true "eco" country, far ahead of many across the world:
✅ Bikes galore (more bikes than people:-)
✅Electric vehicles are the norm, not the exception
✅All dishes, plates, cups are washed and recycled at the Convention Center (incredible accomplishment)
✅Water bottles with caps attached to minimize waste (and more times than not, you can find a recyclable water option)
✅Based on the low power of my hotel hair dryer (on the highest setting), I'm sure it's super energy efficient as I couldn't dry my hair for a week 💇♀️ 😂
Coming home, I'm going to make a greater effort to up my "eco" lifestyle. What can we all do to be more eco minded in our every day lives?

The way dishes and cups were recycled within the conference center was amazing! I've never seen anything like it, but it makes so much sense given that everyone is contained throughout the day in that area.
Also loved the branded bikes, Nancy!
🌍 Wednesday Environment Day!
Imagine pulling into the parking lot, with all these cars around, and you just wanna park your bike!
We might find it odd, yet the Danish people did it!
Yes, Over 60% of Copenhagen's residents choose bicycles as their primary mode of transportation.
Copenhagen, Denmark, a city leading the charge in sustainable urban living, offers a remarkable example of what's possible when cities prioritize eco-conscious infrastructure.
In a world where:
Air pollution
Traffic congestion
Sedentary lifestyles are growing concerns
Copenhagen's approach stands out, as its commitment to cycling not only reduces carbon emissions but also fosters a healthier, more active community.
It's inspiring to witness these innovations, so, let's take inspiration from Copenhagen's initiative and work towards shaping a more sustainable world🌎

Carbon Neutral Cities:
At the weekend I went on a city break to Copenhagen, which is widely considered to be the greenest city in the world.
I could see their efforts to becoming carbon neutral all around the city. They are set to achieve this by 2025!
Some of these were:
- Electric taxis and public transport.
- Well serviced bike lanes.
- Urban gardens.
- Organic cafes and restaurants who grow a lot of their own food.
- A lot of vintage and second hand shops.
- An array of sustainable fashion brands.
- The worlds cleanest power plant, turned into a ski slope and hiking centre.
- Clean waterways, free for the public to swim in.
These are some great projects and initiatives that many other cities should follow to achieve their net 0 goals.

🌿 Copenhagen attractions reward climate-friendly actions
All our choices have an environmental impact, so why not make conscious decisions that benefit us all and be rewarded for them?
Earn rewards at Copenhagen attractions ranging from a free lunch or a cup of coffee to a kayak tour or even a free entrance to a museum. All you need to do is, for instance, bike instead of drive, help maintain the city, work in an urban garden, or pledge to sustainable behaviour. You will just CopenPay. The pilot programme launches on July 15th and finishes on August 11th.

No matter if you ride a bike, use public transportation, or collect trash, you can spend your good energy to collect the listed rewards, and we trust you when you ask to pay with it. After all, the only one you would be cheating is yourself if you miss out on doing good for our planet.

If Madrid increase his bicycle lanes as other cities in Spain has done and also connect the metropol area with a good infrastructure, local business will flourish as it has done in other big cities in Europe.
The actual situation with a city full of cars and no segregated bicycle lanes are no longer acceptable.

Human-centered Design for a cleaner planet! Here are some of the Make it Toolkit strategies observed:
-> Makeit Timely: Aligning with Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the world’s first carbon-neutral city by 2025, Copenhill serves as a timely reminder and embodiment of the city's commitment to sustainability.
-> Makeit Attractive: The power plant is not just a functional building; it's an architectural landmark with a ski slope, hiking trail, and climbing wall. This makes the idea of sustainability attractive and appealing to the public.
-> Makeit Immersive: The facility offers an immersive experience, from skiing on its slopes to hiking its trails, allowing people to engage with the concept of sustainability in a hands-on manner.
-> Makeit Tangible: The energy produced by the plant provides electricity and district heating for 150,000 homes, making the benefits of sustainability tangible for the community.
-> Makeit Social: The recreational facilities, including the ski slope and hiking trails, create a social space where people can gather, making sustainability a communal experience.
-> Makeit Yours: By transforming a piece of infrastructure into a destination for families and friends, Copenhill encourages a sense of ownership and pride among the citizens.

Copenhill is a sustainable power plant in Copenhagen that features an artificial ski slope that is open year round. ⛷️
It also offers tree-lined hiking trails on its roof along with the tallest artificial climbing wall in the world on its facade.
The plant burns the city's rubbish, converting it into energy to power 90k homes.
The steam it produces is also non toxic. It undergoes a cleaning process that turns it into water vapor. On a cold day, it becomes snow for the ski hill! ❄️

Excellent exploration from BBC into the some of the world’s most sustainable cities. These five show outstanding commitments to the environment, their residents, and the world. The Global Destination Sustainability Index looks at 69 indicators; accommodating and encouraging biking, electric public transport, and selling upcycled garments are some of the many ways these cities are taking their sustainability commitments seriously.

Greener car and greener stays ⚡️
By driving my Model 3, not only am I reducing my carbon footprint, but I also had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that shares my commitment to sustainability.
We can all make greener choices. Preach 📣
It's great to see businesses prioritise eco-friendly practices, from energy-efficient systems to locally sourced amenities, recyclable materials and green practices throughout the hotel.
It might only be a small impact from me, but together, we can make a significant impact on the environment.
It was a conscious choice to stay at Holiday Inn Camden Lock, and the breakfast was great too 🥓🍳
