In this episode of 🥣 Cereal With A Serial Entrepreneur, Tonya Lewis takes us through her journey and gives honest answers to the tough questions. She talks about how you'll make mistakes and that things won't be perfect, no matter how good your business plan is. This realization is freeing because it allows us to stop focusing on being perfect and, instead, get out of our own way and actually start building momentum towards what we want the business to become. Founder as auto-didact. This requires an above-average level of intelligence but mainly a dogged insistence that you can learn difficult and opaque specialist knowledge. The founders that impress me the most are the ones who ask - "what is $/%ACV?" and then, a year later, deploy it accurately in their planning. If you interpret scaling successfully as a reflection on you, the founder, you could be in real trouble. You should see scaling as a gift from your fans and growing further as an obligation to serve your fans even better. The arrogance of the first sentence continues to cause unicorn founders to dismiss consumer concerns and the concerns of their internal staff. You become a tyrant with no clothes. Then, when your company fails, you end up a lonely fool. #business #startups #entrepreneurship
