Employee training and development. This is such a critical topic, especially in the face of record unemployment. Evidence based practice shows that fostering a learning culture provides a tremendous return on investment. When companies embrace a robust learning strategy, they find increased employee engagement, better employee alignment with organizational goals, expanded knowledge sharing, and increased workplace innovation. A winning investment all around. Learn more from an exceptionally talented expert. Reach out to Bob Huebner, RAH Growth Solutions. Follow him to add your thoughts and see what others are saying.
President RAH Growth Solutions LLC / Growth and Capture Consultant
Are we investing enough in the training and development of our staff? It's a question that demands our attention, especially in times where cost-cutting is the norm. Have we become so focused on controlling bid rates that we are underinvesting in our people?
One professional who has benefited from top-notch training and mentoring is speaking out. Their systems engineering training at EDS allowed them to provide superior services to customers, yielding increased revenue. Similarly, their Capture and Strategy training at Northrop Grumman supported their growth and ability to deliver well beyond industry standard win rates. Just-in-time proposal response and solution training to joint BD and Operations teams yielded amazing wins on very competitive bids.
It's not just this professional who has reaped the rewards of training. Industry leaders and peers have shared that finding properly trained talent has gotten harder and budgets have been cut. The question remains, how do we reverse this trend? Perhaps more formal mentoring and just-in-time team training might yield the fastest results to encourage more investments.
What are your thoughts and observations? Let's start a conversation on this critical topic.
I’ve been listening to the great Bob Proctor ….
⭐️Thoughts are things! ⭐️
We must understand that in order to change our lives & results …We MUST change our paradigms (system of believing & thinking). 💭🤔
In order to change our mindsets:
1). Be a student of ourselves (inner-engineering)
2). Read & listen to new information
3). We MUST “THINK ABOUT WHAT WE ARE THINKING ABOUT!”
“I feel like I am on a team of one.”
Being a senior operations leader can be lonely.
- You have to hold information that you can’t share with anyone
- Decisions are made that you have to defend, but you can’t always share all of the context behind it
- Teammates only notice when operations go wrong, rather than when they are going right
You don’t have to do this alone.
What if there was a community of operations leaders that work in social impact that you could rely on for resources, support, and best-in-class training?

When it comes to making and implementing change in the area of Reliability. I really like the analogy from Terrence OHanlon "Think of reliability like safety, it's everybody's business."
And remember, you don't need to be a 'formal' leader or someone with a big title to make an impact!
Start doing the right things today.
Eventually, people will notice and join in ...
