NIH researchers and their colleagues found significant changes in brain structure among young people with conduct disorder. Those with conduct disorder exhibit a persistent pattern of disruptive, aggressive, and antisocial behavior. The most pronounced difference was a smaller area of the cerebral cortex, which plays a crucial role in behavior, cognition, and emotion.
