As I have been researching and applying for jobs, I am discovering a couple new pathways of interest. What is the best way to showcase how your current KSAs can pivot into the new roles? How do you set yourself apart when I'm sure there are many others interested in the same roles that already have experience? I'm now looking at two paths: the payroll/ benefits side of HR. I am currently working on a MHR and already have the people-side experience. How do I share that I am ready for any position, entry-level included, that gives me experience in payroll and benefits? The second path has to do with the development and onboarding of new veterinary hospitals. I LOVED being in charge of the half a million dollar renovation of my previous vet clinic and would love to expand that interest into designing and coordinating new hospitals, opening new locations, onboarding teams to a new management company. Again, I have the people management experience, but no formal design or construction experience. Getting no response from HR is itself a response that you were not shortlisted or that you had received a call or email from them if you were selected. I don't get why people want a response from HR. Do you want to know from HR that you were not selected? There are many candidates applying for one position, so how will HR manage to inform every single candidate?
