I think there’s a misconception that DEI programs are only for Black people and the LGBT+ community. They are not. DEI programs support women. DEI programs support people with disabilities. DEI programs support veterans. DEI programs support people from underprivileged socioeconomic backgrounds. DEI programs support religious beliefs and interfaith engagement. DEI programs support parents. DEI programs support age-specific groups. DEI programs aren’t designed to make people feel bad for growing up with certain advantages. These programs exist to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate regardless of the advantages they may or may not have. They serve more people than you might realize.
