🫧 ɪᴍᴘᴀᴄᴛ ʙᴜʙʙʟᴇ 🍀… …Or more exactly breaking out of it was the motto of this year’s IMPACT FESTIVAL It was a breath of fresh air to speak about this. Too often we are speaking about #inclusion, respect, etc. ⏩️ But what is effectively happening? Beyond the (well) known successful #impact stories, I also see: ❌ Impact Solutions that are far from being accessible to all nor thinking holistically as far as current living conditions and priorities are concerned: it is not a myth that increasingly more people are trying to meet both ends at the end of the month unfortunately, or can’t afford to Iive in cities and need a car, etc. Same goes for companies that are having increasingly more constraints not least owing to difficult market conditions ❌Companies doing their best to start somewhere with all that has to be done but are bashed the minute they talk about it as they haven’t done all the work overnight and aren’t yet there ✅ Yes we need to take action, yes we need solutions… ʙᴜᴛ change will not happen overnight and has to be as inclusive as possible ▶️ Not all companies nor #investors are there yet and don’t need to be discouraged in their efforts when starting ▶️ We need more solutions taking into account all those who want to do good thereby achieving a true but broader #productmarketfit incl. comprehensive market research beyond the bubble ;-) ✅ The will and sufficient level of consciousness are there, we need now to strengthen the ecosystem now! 🙏 Thank you Mara Steinbrenner and the entire Impact Festival team for relentlessly working on this, I truly appreciated the increase in #diversity at all levels this year! And it was a pleasure to connect and re-connect with so many such as Romain Grimal Lucas Daniel Schmitt Alessandro Marchiaro Jasper Schlump Maximilian Bannasch Sebastian Fittko … a day is simply not enough! This morning I had the opportunity to attend this great event with some amazing insights from the guest speakers. Sharon McCarthy from Autism Journeys kicked off the conference, educating us around universal accommodation for all and to aim to be a Human based business. Final take away, instead of “fear of the unknown” replace fear with curiosity. The first panel gave a rivoting discussion that covered topics like: “Move beyond the illusion of inclusion” and “Being an Ally is more then being a label” The final panel included our very own Brid Nolan discussed the importance of open communication, continous engagement and early education. Call to action: 1. Give & takes time 2. Be Flexible 3. No assumptions; everyone’s experiences are different 4. Just ask - we are all human 5. Be kind!!! Was a very insightful conference and #pepsicoproud we are a company that strives to be an inclusive organisation #TIAdiversitymatters

20+ months since I shared my hopes and excitement as a participant & amateur panellist at the inaugaral Pass Her The Mic opening event, it's full-circle and homecoming being back on stage at our gathering hosted by the brilliant Anna Soliman to share my journey so far 💖   I talked through 5 tips that have helped me with confidence, visibility & speaking opportunities - 01/ have a Sponsor - they are the ones who will bring you into opportunities. 02/ find a Partner - being on panels/events/stages with a comforting presence really changes how you feel. 03/ know that you're Unparalleled - you have something important & worthwhile to say. Seeing women, especially women of colour, on stage has an impact on how people feel represented & seen. 04/ Nominate yourself - make your intentions and interests known. 05/ be Kind to yourself - we can really pick ourselves apart sometimes, you're amazing for sharing your voice.   Together, these tips spell ⚡SPUNK.
