Strategically minded communications and marketing professional who loves big ideas and a great story.
I realized lately that I might not actually be doing LinkedIn correctly, so here's an attempt to use my deeply limited sphere of influence for some actual good, based on my understanding of the argot of the space: Hey LinkedIn fam! 👋💼 Let's talk about a game-changer in our communities - 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺! 🗞🔍 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘀𝗸? 🤔 It's simple - they are the 𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀 👀, 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘀 👂, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 👊 of our local communities! 🏙️ They tirelessly work to bring us the stories that matter most - the businesses, the events, and the heroes in our backyard! 🌟 Supporting local journalism isn't just a trend, it's an 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁! 💪 It empowers us to stay informed, make better decisions, and ultimately, strengthen our communities! 🤝 So let's take a moment today to salute our local journalists 🎩📰 - the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to keep us connected and informed! It's rough out there when incompetent companies are attacking the very nature of the business (I can attest to this personally 😮💨). Shout out to groups like Arizona Luminaria, Tucson Agenda, Arizona Agenda, Arizona Public Media and TucsonSentinel.com for putting up the good fight, continuing to make people in power uncomfortable. 🌐📡 Remember, every click, like, subscription and share counts! Come check out this forthcoming conversation led by the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona. Let's spread the word and 𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬! 🚀💡 #SupportLocalJournalism #CommunityStrong #EmpowerThroughMedia #LinkedInInfluencePost #MakeADifferenceToday 🌐🗞

Is what you’re posting on LinkedIn reaching the audience you hoped it would? Do you feel more connected to your real life community because of the time you spend sharing and engaging on LinkedIn? If you’ve been considering how your own LinkedIn presence could maximize your impact, this is the session for you. Join us this coming Tuesday to hear Tania Bhattacharyya share how building your online presence can help you achieve your mission.
If you’ve ever felt like a small fish in your community’s big philanthropic pond – this session is for you. Tania Bhattacharyya was once in your shoes. Her organization made transformative change happen. But too many of the movers and shakers in her community had no idea. Then she discovered this storytelling secret and used it to find new donors, get attention from the local media and get referrals (for new clients, volunteers, even board members!). In this session, Tania will share her storytelling tactics for using LinkedIn to create a bridge between your mission and the community you serve. You do such important work. And after this session, you’ll have a gameplan to leverage the power of LinkedIn’s platform – so your community notices. To register or for more information: https://lnkd.in/gYAja-gc

Bonjou! And happy holiday season! I am sharing today about something very important. Each year our non-profit HAPPY HAITIAN EDUCATION hosts a "No Snow Christmas" Event which includes a dinner, student talent show, carols and more with our students, staff, faculty and their families Please know, your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $1 or $100. Why is it that every organization says this? Well, to be honest it's the truth - a single dollar from one person can multiply into $1000 without anyone feeling the effect. (No one, except our school in Hinche of course.) With your support, our community has the chance to enjoy a dinner together when they might not otherwise have the means to do so. With this Facebook link we encourage you to share about our event with simple text messages, emails, Linkedin messenger, and more. https://lnkd.in/grByX5Y3 What you can do: 1. Copy some of this message 2. Include the event link 3. Share with people you know!

Colorado's day of giving is coming up - not to be confused with the national Giving Tuesday that happened yesterday - and I'd like to bring to your attention my favorite non-profit! CO-LABS is a non-profit consortium of federal research laboratories, institutions, universities, colleges, businesses, and economic development organizations that provide financial and in-kind support for programs that promote the retention and expansion of Colorado's scientific resources. Keeping our scientific research labs and institutes funded is a matter of pragmatism and national security as much as it is a matter of pride and inspiration. The mission of CO-LABS is to support federal labs and keep them funded. This is so important now as these organizations are constantly threatened by budget cuts and downsizing, thereby hindering their ability to produce cutting-edge research for the public. Science can't be put on pause and years of research can be compromised without consistent funding. If you care about Colorado science as much as I do, consider donating to CO-LABS by December 5th. There are matches available and donations of $125 and above are automatically enrolled with an annual Individual Membership which adds you to their invitations to laboratory tours and other events. #givingtuesday #nonprofitfundraising #sciencematters #federalfunding
CO-LABS is made possible by our generous sponsors and fellow science enthusiasts. This year we are joining "Colorado Gives Day" on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023. CO-LABS is dedicated to informing civic and political leaders of the crucial impact that the network of 30+ federally-funded research labs and institutes in Colorado has on our local economy and our national security. If you enjoy the benefits of modern science, please consider CO-LABS for a donation this year and please share this message with your network. We appreciate the support of any amount; donations of $125 and above are automatically enrolled with an annual Individual Membership which adds you to our invitations to laboratory tours and other events. #sciencematters #nonprofit #coloradogives #colorado https://lnkd.in/em5mTAYK

Join me in donating to an organization I love, Bay Area Urban Debate League! BAUDL offers debate programming for Black, brown and urban students across the Bay Area, equipping young people with critical skills and offering a platform for urban youth to participate in national dialogue. Your donation will help support programs that make a difference. Debate education is proven to increase high school graduation rates and achievement in both middle and high school. In a 2023 study on the impact of debate, a Harvard researcher concluded: “These results provide policymakers a rare promising program for reducing inequality in reading achievement, analytical thinking skills, and educational attainment among middle and high school students. Debate programs are cost-effective relative to other high-profile interventions and therefore have great potential for scalability.” BAUDL’s experience confirms these results—from 2020–2023, 100% of BAUDL seniors have graduated from high school. I hope you can join me and make a donation at baudl.org/donate-to-baudl!
