"At first, I didn't want to come, but after I arrived and was in therapy for a couple of days, I realized the benefit. In the beginning, I was weak and lost a lot of strength. Now, as I'm leaving, I have regained strength. The therapists are all really nice and well-trained. I had an excellent experience and would recommend Lagniappe Healthcare Skilled Nursing Facility to anyone." #Healthcare #SynergyCareSuccess #OutcomesAreEverything #SynergyCares #LoveWhatYouDo #BetterOutcomes #SkilledNursingFacility #LongTermCare #AssistedLiving #SeniorLiving #IndependentLiving #MemoryCare Read about what Synergy Care means to incredible therapists and check out the open positions at https://lnkd.in/eE8CvyJZ

Hospitals rely on the support of hundreds of other positions to make patient care possible, but many of those positions go unrecognized for their efforts. While we see the incredible and vital work that #casemanagers and #socialworkers do every day for patients, we don't always see them get the recognition that they deserve. So great to see that healthcare leaders are increasingly understanding the importance of these roles and providing them with the visibility and recognition that they deserve! From Meera Udayakumar, MD, SFHM of UNC Health Rex: "There are many potential roles to choose from, but I would say social workers. They are the glue that holds our system together, and so much of what patients need right now is social support rather than acute medical needs." #healthcare #casemanagement #socialwork #caremanagement https://lnkd.in/gi9sVG_i

Over 100,000 additional clinicians and $6.5B in annual costs are the numbers that the senior living industry will need to meet to comply with the new federal staffing requirements. As a result, facilities need to invest in their workforce pools while also navigating an industry-wide staffing shortage. Integrated technology solutions can help providers streamline their workflows, allowing them more time to work with patients and boosting morale – both of which will help with burnout and attract talent to the industry. Last week, LeadingAge President and CEO, Katie Smith Sloan, joined the growing number of #longtermcare experts speaking out in opposition to the looming #federalstaffingmandate. In a detailed letter to President Biden, Sloan reiterated that nursing homes and the federal government share a common goal of improving quality of care in nursing homes, but emphasized that mandating minimum staffing levels alone will not lead to meaningful quality improvements without enough qualified workers to fill open positions. Sloan proposed a variety of solutions to address the issue and suggested an industry roundtable to discuss creative solutions across of variety of LTC stakeholders. "Residents, patients, providers, regulators, and policymakers all have a part to play in this effort." At Reverence, we believe that solving the workforce challenges in healthcare is a collective effort, and that #technology plays a critical role in effectively utilizing a scarce an invaluable resource: people. https://lnkd.in/e3ezNkH8

The numbers tell the story themselves – the new regulations do not consider the current state of the senior care industry. The industry is not equipped to meet these standards, and we need more federal funding to make this a possibility. In the meantime, we will continue to support and guide these facilities in making decisions to navigate the challenges of burnout and staffing shortages by utilizing technology to streamline operations to benefit patients and providers.
