Congratulations to the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust on being named the Digital Team of the Year in the Health Service Journal Digital Awards 2024! The launch of Hive was no small feat, in fact it was the single largest clinical transformation project in the history of the trust and Europe’s largest ever EPR rollout (and the second largest worldwide)! https://lnkd.in/eNH84SrF #Healthcare #DigitalTransformation #ClincialDocumentation

Delighted to represent Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust at ‘Embracing Innovation in the NHS: Health Tech and Digital’ hosted by #HealthInnovationNetwork (HIN, South London). Brilliant and inspiring discussion bringing together representation from the #NHS and #industry with a commitment to co-develop the future of #innovation. ➡️ patient first approach is core, and personally add this means ‘safety first’. ➡️ prototype, iterate, repeat - keep learning and improving! Be brave and proceed with confidence. ➡️ procurement processes can be agile where there is commitment towards this. Important to consider scaling from the outset - who needs to be on your panel to enable this seamlessly? ➡️ don’t forget the ‘human’ aspect of digital health - relationship building and entrustment will bring dividends at all stages of innovation. ➡️ the NHS can learn from agility seen in industry and industry can learn from the evaluative rigour of the NHS. Mostly, energising to be surrounded by optimism from a community of #healthcare #innovators - striving to do better for patients, especially at this time for the #NHS. It was fun as well as thought provoking!

Collaboration and data sharing in healthcare aren't just buzzwords—they're the keys to unlocking better research, policy, and investment decisions, ultimately leading to improved patient care. The University of Queensland has collaborated with Queensland Health, CSIRO Australian eHealth Research Centre and Health Translation Queensland on a ground-breaking report into Queensland’s digital health ecosystem which signifies a leap towards fostering collaboration and data sharing among health professionals and research organisations in Queensland. “Digital health enables patients greater access and control of their health information while providing clinicians the insights and intelligence to make better, more effective decisions,” CSIRO’s AEHRC CEO Dr David Hansen said. The report not only offers insights into navigating the digital ecosystem for enhanced healthcare but also provides a blueprint for a learning health system. Through the integration of internal data, external evidence, and knowledge, we are paving the path towards a healthcare system that continuously adapts and evolves. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of patients, researchers, and medical professionals. #UQ #Healthcare #AustralianHealthCare

GP Consulting Strategically with HealthTech & VCs To Ensure Product Success | Supporting Tech To Change Lives
My GP Leadership Thought of the Week 😀 The NHS is evolving and as GP’s we need to accept and understand this evolution. With the loss of CCG’s and the creation of ICB’s, GP’s are trying to find their position in this new system. As GP’s we know how much value we hold both in terms of experience and skillset, but we need to show and prove our value to the systems we work in. GPs are uniquely positioned to offer significant value because we have: · An overview of the entire health system · The most frequent contact with service users · The highest volume of activity within the health system · Experience as the first point of contact in most illness and disease · Direct access to all healthcare specialities · An understanding of the health economy · An understanding of how to deliver value and efficiency And this is why GP’s need to play a critical role in system development, pathway development and the creation of new healthcare and #HealthTech solutions.

Look, I'm probably never going to do a #TEDTalk (collective sigh of relief). But this is the closest I might come... My patient presentation at the Better Together for Digital Healthcare Conference in Dublin's Convention Centre. 👀➡️ https://lnkd.in/e3kbiq9Z I am a reluctant public speaker but I feel compelled to raise the #patientvoice because: 👩💻Patients are becoming more digitally empowered and looking for a more seamless healthcare experience 💪We need to adopt digital strategies that will strengthen the patient partnership 🤝The process should not control the patient - the patient is part of the process 😱 Patient fears and concerns need to be raised, recognized and addressed 🌉 Support from patients should be sought and reinforced 👍We need to collaborate or we will fail eHealth Ireland Health Service Executive #patientvoice #digitalhealthcare #patientadvocacy

Totally agree with Chris. Stepping back and looking at the Autumn Statement, how can we bemoan lack of productivity and cut investment in digital? The answer is because some people see technology cost and not digital benefit. The tide is turning though. More focus is going into the productivity discussion, which is a good thing for digital budgets. The challenge then is how do we do what Chris says and prove the transformative value of being digital such that the tech cost pales.
Great piece in the Health Service Journal yesterday regarding the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust approach to applying allocative efficiency principles to address financial pressures and supplement the "insufficient" current NHS cost improvement model (see first comment for link). There is lots to agree with here, particularly ensuring resource allocation is being driven by patient needs and the realisation of outcomes. Ensuring CIPs are guided strongly by a close analysis of data collected locally, in order to have an evidence based, informative approach is essential. However, the missing piece here, which we at Channel 3 Consulting are working with organisations to facilitate, is the in depth examination of how technology is utilised across organisations and optimisation of the value derived from the current suite of digital tools financially, operationally and clinically. Commonly, organisations have applied the approach of using technology as a plaster (band aid to my US friends) to fix a problem, rather than realising that integrating technology by optimising its application allows the system to heal from within. Ubiquity of digital across the organisation provides a foundation to drive cost efficient, high performing systems of health and care. We are open to discuss how our method of driving digitally-enabled cost improvement can benefit you so reach out if you are interested in learning more. #deliveringvaluethroughdigital
