Building a Clean Energy and Sustainable Transportation future in New York, the U.S., and around the world
Join me on April 4 for a great conversation about how the Low Carbon Fuel Standard has played a key role in accelerating electrification, decreasing diesel pollution, and decarbonizing transportation in CA - and how it can do the same in NY and the northeast!

Only one thing could keep me going on a 5 hour drive fresh from two days of witnessing the (controlled) realities of hydrogen and hydrocarbon detonations at DNV Spadeadam, and that was the anticipation of speaking alongside an extremely qualified panel at ETIDEX. I do believe we covered all aspects of the energy transition, from Mark discussing financing the projects (the most important part), Eamonn discussing building the projects (the most important part), me discussing engineering safety in to the projects (the most important part) and finally Andrew discussing staffing the projects for generations to come (the most important part). This was all expertly woven together by John representing UoA and the expert research they do to create the foundations on which the industrial energy transition can stand (the most important part). I think it's obvious that everyone has a vital role to play in ensuring that the challenge and scale of the energy transition can be met within a meaningful timeline so that future generations do not suffer at the hands of past decisions.
Thought-provoking morning at the Energy Voice ETIDEX conference. Opened by our CIO Mark Munro, brilliant panel session to discuss the huge opportunities presented by the energy transition. ‘Collaboration’ was the word of the day. With John Underhill Megan Hine Andrew Hockey Eamonn Collins 🎤

🚢 How can Denmark and North America collaborate on developing a green maritime and port industry? This was the main topic during yesterday's panel discussion on our Green Maritime & Port Alliance at the 2024 Port of the Future Conference in Houston. For a full hour, the conference's main stage was dedicated to discussing the Green Maritime & Port Alliance. Joined by Jesper Raakjær of Port of Aalborg and Vesa Koivumaa of Blue Sky Maritime Coalition, our Head of Energy, Morten Siem Lynge, shared challenges with decarbonizing the sector and the pivotal role that ports play in the global maritime industry's energy transition. Ports serve as central load centers between land and sea, possessing the infrastructure and grid connectivity to serve as hubs for green power generation, storage, and distribution. However, unlocking ports' full potential requires public and private collaboration across borders. As leading maritime nations, Denmark and the US share a common commitment to accelerate the green transition of ports. And so, the Green Maritime & Port Alliance seeks to facilitate knowledge-sharing and partnership opportunities between Danish and American maritime companies and ports to create sustainable solutions to joint challenges. By exchanging Danish learnings and solutions with the North American industry during yesterday's panel discussion, we are hopefully one step closer to achieving just that 🤝 If you want to learn more about market opportunities in the global maritime energy transition, do not hesitate to reach out to our Advisor Emil Andersen, or learn more about our Green Maritime & Port Alliance here 👉 https://lnkd.in/d_UEc3Sy #greenshipping #greenmaritime #DenmarkinUSA #WorkingforDenmark

𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 (𝐑𝐒𝐓) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐩 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐨 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 RST and Samskip are proud to announce the successful launch of their Green Shore Power initiative, which aims to dramatically reduce CO2 emissions produced by vessels docked by providing new clean shore powered energy solutions. The joint initiative is an example of what companies can do if they have a common goal and join forces in the energy transition towards CO2 neutrality. The shore power solution is the first of its kind in the Netherlands ports. The celebration of this milestone event was on Friday, July 21st, where delegations from Samskip, RST, Port of Rotterdam (HBR), Municipality of Rotterdam and HES gathered. During the celebration, “Samskip Innovator” provided an onsite demonstration of the smooth transition between ship power and the new shore power. The new shore power endeavor was largely possible through the expertise of Harbour Electronical Services (HES) which both prepared and outfitted Samskip’s shortsea vessel “Innovator” to receive shore power. The power supply unit at the quay of RST has been installed by Jolectra. Read more... https://bit.ly/3DrMcri
