"Tell me about a media hit you're most proud of." 📰 This is a real question I like to ask candidates interviewing for a media relations role. I ask it for a couple reasons: 1.) I want to understand the strategic thinking that went into said media hit and 2.) I want to see if they're passionate about media relations. IMHO, #2 is the most important. The best PR pros I've worked with love the chase and this usually comes through in their answer. You don't want box checkers. ✅ You want people that truly enjoy finding the perfect news hook and who get a thrill when a reporter lights up their inbox. 👀 Happy interviewing! #PublicRelations #PRAgency #CareerAdvice

In the competitive world of Public Relations, temporary and contract work can be a valuable asset. Here's how to effectively highlight these experiences on your resume: Formatting: Two Options: You can choose to list your temporary and contract positions under a separate "Contract Experience" section or integrate them chronologically with your full-time roles under a single "Experience" section. Consistency is Key: Whichever format you choose, maintain consistency throughout your resume. Highlighting Skills and Achievements: Focus on Impact: Don't simply list the company name and dates. Use strong action verbs and quantifiable results to showcase your accomplishments in each role. Tailor to Each Job: Tailor your descriptions to the specific public relations skills you used in each position. Did you craft compelling press releases for a new product launch? Did you manage a social media campaign that increased brand awareness? Keywords & Metrics: Include relevant keywords that match the job you're applying for and use metrics whenever possible. For example, "Increased media mentions by 20% through strategic media outreach."
