🚨 Attention Everyone! An Urgent Call for Action! 🚨 Let's shed light on a critical issue that demands our attention. Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has sparked a nationwide conversation with his handling of migrants seeking asylum. These real individuals, filled with hopes and fears, have been sent to various cities across the US, often facing harsh and inhumane conditions. In freezing Chicago, some were even provided inadequate clothing on New Year's Eve! ⚠️ This extends beyond a mere policy matter; it's a blatant violation of human rights. Seeking asylum is both a legal and humane right, but Governor Abbott is wielding it for political maneuvering, disregarding the dignity and safety of these vulnerable individuals. ❌ Silence isn't an option anymore – we need to demand accountability. ✍️ Let your voice be heard! Sign the petition now urging the Department of Justice to thoroughly investigate Governor Abbott's actions. Together, let's show that human rights triumph over political gamesmanship. #StopAbbott #ProtectAsylumSeekers #DemandAccountability #HumanRightsMatter #JusticeForAll #TakeActionNow #DailyKos

Today we recognize Justice Peggy A Quince. In 1993, Justice Quince became the first African-American female to be appointed to one of the district courts of appeal with her appointment. She was then elevated to the Florida Supreme Court in 1999, becoming only the third woman — and the very first female African-American — to sit as a Justice on the Supreme Court of Florida. Justice is the first step towards bringing impartiality and harmony within society. As a society, justice for the victims makes us believe that ‘Yes, justice will eventually prevail.’ The #WorldDayForInternationalJustice reflects on the importance of having a strong international and national justice system that will take quick and more importantly accurate decisions.

QUESTION OF THE YEAR: HOW MANY INSURRECTIONIST FLAGS ARE TOO MANY FOR A SCOTUS JUSTICE TO FLY? Maybe the answer depends on how many wives (or husbands or significant others) a Justice has and can blame. Maybe the answer depends on how in charge the Chief Justice is. Or maybe it depends on what bribes have been offered to overlook the transgression. Or maybe the answer lies elsewhere. But one thing is for certain: Under Chief Justice John Roberts and the MAGA-majority SCOTUS, at least one truthful answer is "however many it takes to overthrow American democracy by destroying America's belief in the rule of law and equality of justice for all." In this endeavor, the six conservative Justices appear to be united. https://lnkd.in/eZzG-3Vn
