There’s a massive opportunity for B2B marketing and sales teams in 2024. Sales reps having their own LinkedIn Ad budget. Hear me out. Last year, LinkedIn released Thought Leadership Ads, which means individual posts can now be promoted by the company, not just company posts. This is great for 3 reasons: 1. It builds credibility and consistency. The BDRs / AEs are the ones trying to book meetings with the target audience. It makes more sense if the content the audiences sees is from the individual they are going to have a meeting with. Not only does it build credibility, but it’s also a great way to build continuity into the marketing and sales process. 2. Less work, more reach. 99% of people don’t post on LinkedIn, so chances are most that sales reps don’t have a large organic audience. Rather than spending years building that audience, they can leverage this approach to produce one piece of content a week and amplify it to their whole list of accounts (even with 0 followers). 3. It aligns marketing and sales. If you show & prove how creating content and correctly amplifying it can directly increase their pipeline and chances of hitting target, chances are their mindset & how they approach content and sales will drastically change. 2024 could be the year to restructure your marketing team and allocate resources to helping sales reps create the best content (video, audio, text), which you can then amplify into the marketing mix. Blaming the ad channel is easy. But it's a team 🤝 effort that closes the deal. You have probably said: 1.) Google Ads don't work 2.) LinkedIn ads are expensive and don't make sense 3.) We tried it {channel}, but it didn't work. Is it possible that someone didn't execute well in the channel? Sure, 100%. Is it possible that it didn't make financial sense based on your pricing model? Sure, 100%.
