At the 12th Annual Boys & Girls Club of Evansville Community Clean Up in Indiana, 61 #TeamOneMain volunteers pitched in with Mayor Stephanie Terry, 134 students and 20 Club staff members to pick up trash and keep the community where we live and work clean and beautiful.
Today is the kickoff of #NationalAdoptionMonth, the one awareness month that means more to us than any other. We embrace this opportunity to bring greater awareness to the need for permanency for thousands of Pennsylvania foster children waiting for families. It's what we work for EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. "Empowering our youth for a brighter future starts with building capacity in Juvenile Justice. 🌟👧👦 Let's work together to create a system that supports, educates, and rehabilitates. 🤝 Here's how we can make a difference:
1. Invest in education and skills training.
2. Promote restorative justice practices.
3. Provide mentorship and counseling.
4. Advocate for policy reform.
5. Foster community engagement.
Together, we can shape a more just and hopeful path for our youth. 💪🌆 #JuvenileJustice#YouthEmpowerment#ChangeMakers"
Violence takes many forms. Sometimes people are punished for it (street violence) and sometimes people are revered for it (think Robert Moses). Make no mistake, *this* kind of state sponsored violence contributed and continues to contribute to our #gunviolence problem, destroying community fabric, draining equity, and causing trauma. We are thrilled to partner with SFF to advance the human, social, health and economic rights of widows in Kenya.
Access and ownership of property, especially land, is one of the most violated economic rights of widows.
As we start 2024, Nyanam widows will be
- critically analyzing their experiences with land since widowhood
- increasing their awareness on their land rights and process for land ownership
- designing and implementing social action projects to improve their land ownership
At societal level, much needs to change to advance women’s land rights.
The practice that women have no voice on land matters should stop
The practice that land is registered only in the names of male family members should stop
The practice of denying childless widows land should stop
Do you know what makes the first Wednesday of 2024 a thousand times better?! 😜 Welcoming excellent partners like Nyanam Widows Rising to our family. Please show them some love! 💚
Nyanam is a restorative justice organization preparing widows to lead positive community transformation through holistic programs in leadership, health, livelihoods and economic empowerment, justice and human rights, and youth education.
Why do we love them? 🤓
Nyanam centers all of its programs on the widows’ voices and needs. Their paralegal training is integral to empowering widows to understand their rights and advocate for themselves in the justice system.

Community support can make a world of difference. Black dads, how has your community supported you and your child? Let’s share resources and build stronger connections. #AutisminBlack#CommunitySupport
Sharing a little bit of myself. I don’t like wasps and I want to be better at not running away from them! Our ‘who am I?’ YJS family tree in reception. Promoting positive interactions, relationship building and giving a visual picture of the whole YJS network of support.
The ‘who am I?’ document is also completed with all the children we work with and presented at decision making meetings where the child is being discussed. This helps to ensure that we separate the behaviour and the child, helps prevent adultification and promotes child first practice. #childfirst

We are excited to share the recipient of the 2023 Change Ripley County Grant, the Town of Osgood. Through this grant, Laine Narwold and Iron Timbers will add a unique, artistic touch to a recently installed concrete traffic barrier along US 421. This partnership between creative individuals will bring Osgood's town history to life through wood, metal, and art.
Change Ripley County Grant Recipients are chosen by Ripley Youth Outreach students to offer an opportunity for local youth to drive positive change in our community. #ChangeRipleyCounty#CommunityEmpowerment#YouthInvolvement
As we wrap up #BlackHistoryMonth, we must remember: work needs to be done to combat the problem of disproportionality, which affects black children and families, as well as other minority populations in foster care. As we acknowledge the work of those before us, let us use their example to guide us as we continue working on behalf of the most vulnerable children and families. For more on disproportionality visit https://bit.ly/38aTWvV.
Today's the day! Walk with us in our new interactive "Lighting the Path for Social Justice for Children & Youth" during #CMHAW2024.
Each set of steps highlights information and resources designed to help you #AcceptAdvocateAct on behalf of children, youth, and families across the country. You'll help "light the path" by learning what you can do to promote acceptance in your state and/or community.
