I wanted to take the time to share an interesting interview our team published this month featuring a discussion between @Domiziano Pontone, Chief Corporate Sales Officer at @Gi Group Holding, and Vlastimil Václavík, HR Project Manager at Škoda Group. It was interesting to hear both men’s takes on the evolution of the public transport manufacturing industry both in Central Europe and around the world at large.
Specifically, they touched upon the key issue of talent shortages and the need to rethink search and staffing, plus skilling programmes, for new roles as the sector evolves. Within this discussion they also highlighted the issue of labour mobility which is very important in the CEE regional context, specifically when it comes to finding qualified, skilled talent in other parts of the world, to take on new roles for which local skills are lacking. Škoda Group is just one of many companies bringing in needed talent from parts of Eastern Europe and Asia to shore up skills gaps in production, logistics and tech development roles.
