America keeps going outside! More and more Americans, regardless of age, race, or place are headed outside! That includes 7.7 million Americans who tried something related to outdoor recreation for the first time! This is fantastic news. Here's what I'd ask you to do: first, get outside and celebrate, second, call your city councilors, your county commissioners, your state and national reps and senators, your governor's office, and the local campaign office for presidential candidates and ask them what they're doing to enhance and protect continued outdoor recreation and conservation opportunities. #votetheoutdoors Then, find an opportunity at least once or twice a year to give back to the outdoors--an invasive species pull at a park, a trail maintenance day, volunteering at a trail event. Finally, try something new! Rinse (or not) and repeat! Thanks for the report Outdoor Industry Association and Outdoor Foundation

As the official charitable arm of the Bureau of Land Management, the Foundation for America’s Public Lands convened partners from across the country to help us reimagine outdoor recreation on America’s public lands and waters. Our new report released today includes responsive actions the BLM can consider that would foster greater partner engagement, build an inclusive culture, and help address the challenges they face to ensure public lands and waters are available, accessible, and able to be enjoyed by current and future generations alike. One thing is clear – we need strong partnerships to ensure the BLM has the resources it needs to implement the vision. This report is just the beginning, and we look forward to ongoing, future partnerships to make the vision a reality. Read our report: https://lnkd.in/ewTSnN2C

THE OUTDOORS IS EVOLVING! The OIA just launched their 2024 participation report. Here are key takeaways and opportunities: HIGHLIGHTS _Outdoor participation continues to make significant gains (+4.1% YOY). _Participation is becoming more casual (outings fell 8 PTS YOY) _Diversity improves in slightly (POC participation +1.6 PTS YOY). _Now, more than half of participants are women (51.9%) _Boomers activity continues to grow (+11.5% YOY) OPPORTUNITIES Based on these trends, consider the following opportunities: **Brand** Be relatable by broadening the branding from peak and pinnacle to firsts and journeys. **Design** Bring the lifestyle to the outdoors, not the outdoors to lifestyle. **Innovation** Innovate for new/casual users to make the outdoors accessible, easy, and enjoyable. Hint: Even core consumers will love these products. **Product** Create products that perform, but consider price (so it is not a barrier) and aesthetics (to make them relatable to the rest of life).

Dedicate yourself to work, not just to earn but to serve. This morning, I came across Ericson A. del Castillo, MIR, FPM's inspiring post, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Facebook memories brought this photo from 2018 back into my feed, when I was still working in Sports Marketing, specifically within the Golf divison. Those years were transformative as I discovered something truly remarkable - the power to work and serve simultaneously. Connecting the concept of "service" with the seemingly elitist world of Golf was something I hadn't considered until I had the privilege of collaborating with Habitat for Humanity International, one of our major sponsors of the Asian Tour. This partnership took my involvement in Golf to a whole new level—it transformed it into a mission to serve, both through the efforts of our golfers and my own contributions. We embarked on an incredible journey to humanise golf in every conceivable way. This was no greenwashing exercise - it was a year-long commitment to impacting communities in the countries where we hosted our tournaments. We built homes, established water sanitation units, organized charity auction events, and more. Jogging this memory of mine was a powerful self-reminder that the work we all do can be a potent force for change. For me, the privilege of serving others through my work, contributing to my community, and leaving a lasting postive impact on others' lives will remain the driving force in every role I undertake. Today, we speak so much about purpose-driven work. But firstly, have you uncovered your North star? #reflection #purpose #impactlives #development #meaningfulwork
