This week is teacher appreciation week. Don’t just thank your child’s teacher- thank your teacher in whatever way you can. We can indeed educate in so many ways that do not include a teacher. But it’s the teacher who humanizes learning, customizes instruction to individuals, and creates a space where students ENJOY learning, and continue to do so for the rest of their lives though they may never realize it. While parents stabilize society, and keep families strong, teachers nurture society collectively. This goes for all teachers in all societal institutions. But public education’s teachers advance our cuvilization above our present state. They in many cases are the sole catalyst that transition individuals beyond simple survival. Teachers are at the heart of every form of social and intellectual manifestation of progress we have come to understand because the most successful teachers truly love their students, and teach their students to love and respect one another in the process. What would we be without them? Thank a teacher.

Do you remember that teacher in your life who inspired you? Chances are, they remember you too! Our schools are more than buildings; they are the launchpads for our students’ educational journeys, where they can find what interests them, learn new things, make lasting connections and start pursuing their future. Great callout! I was looking into this book and it has some fantastic reviews from other authors, as well as from current teachers. Growing up surrounded by family members who dedicated themselves to the art of teaching, I gained a profound appreciation for the unwavering commitment it entails. This book beautifully captures the myriad stages a new teacher encounters in their inaugural year – from the eager anticipation, through moments of disillusionment, to the eventual rejuvenation. For seasoned educators, these phases might resonate as familiar echoes, while for those embarking on this journey, it serves as a valuable companion. 📚🍎 #TeachingJourney #EducatorsUnite"
What a great resource for new teachers!

✨N E W B L O G✨ Quick Read, Long Ponder About Accountability by Ginger Lewman "When a teacher tells me they want their kids to take more accountability, more responsibility, the first thing I look for in their classroom is how often the academic conversation is between teacher - students only vs students - students. When kids talk freely and willingly about academics (not just chit-chat) with one another, they're actually building trust and community in one another. AND they're building trust in you, even when they're not talking directly to you, because of the safe, relational environment you're fostering. You're demonstrating with your actions that you trust and respect them."
