Happy International Women's Day from Linn! Our passion is underpinned by pioneering engineering and delivery of superior audio quality. Although the fields of engineering and hi-fi are traditionally seen as male-dominated, we at Linn champion inclusion. We look beyond gender to focus on what matters: talent, passion, and the commitment to providing unparalleled musical experiences for enthusiasts around the globe. This International Women's Day, we're shining the spotlight on our newest team member, Manufacturing Engineer Natasha Pell. Here is what Natasha had to say about her experience in the industry so far: 🎵 How has your experience at Linn been so far? "Working at Linn as a Manufacturing Engineer has been an incredibly rewarding experience that aligns perfectly with my passion for problem-solving and engineering. My role focuses on optimising manufacturing processes to ensure not only that our products deliver exceptional audio experiences, but also exude quality in their appearance and feel. This commitment to excellence is part of what makes the Linn experience unique." 🎵 Why did you decide to pursue a career in engineering? "My motivation to pursue a career in manufacturing engineering, particularly within the hi-fi audio industry, stems from a lifelong interest in applying engineering principles to solve complex problems. The dynamic nature of this field, coupled with the constant opportunity for learning and innovation, drew me in." 🎵 What advice do you have for young women considering a career in engineering or hi-fi? "My advice to young women eyeing engineering or the hi-fi industry is straightforward: be brave and go for it! As Linn's first female Manufacturing Engineer, I've seen how respect and inclusivity foster innovation. I'm committed to enhancing gender representation in engineering; I advocate for increasing female role models in these fields to enhance accessibility and inspiration for young women. Serving on the SmartSTEMs trustee board, I aim to broaden STEM opportunities for all, hoping to inspire the next generation of women to explore their engineering ambitions." Join us in celebrating the remarkable women who are shaping the future of audio engineering excellence. #IWD #LoveLinn #IWD2024 #STEM #InspireInclusion

Listen to a new Dassault Systèmes Women story with Sunjae HAM, CATIA Space Management R&D Software Engineering Manager. 1⃣ Can you describe your journey at Dassault Systèmes in a few words? Dassault Systèmes is my first company where I have been working as a developer since I joined in 2010. Throughout my time here, I have developed and maintained various CATIA applications to meet and ensure customer satisfaction. 2⃣ What does gender equity mean to you? Promoting fairness and equal opportunities for people of all genders. 3⃣ How are you involved in the Dassault Systèmes' Women INitiative program? While working at Dassault Systèmes, I got married and became a mother of two children. Sharing my experience of balancing work and family life as a working mom with other female colleagues has allowed me to be involved in the Dassault Systèmes' Women INitiative program. 4⃣ How do you think we could embrace equity and create a more inclusive world? I think the first step is to make a culture that we respect and appreciate everyone's differences, and we need to stop treating people differently because of stuff like their gender, race, or nationality. #WeAre3DS

Words by Sebastian Kerridge, Talent Intelligence Lead at Strativ Group –/ Here at Strativ, we always strive to deliver diverse shortlists to our clients, and between April 2022 and April 2023, 24 per cent of our aerospace placements have been females; focused primarily on technical and engineering roles. This is a statistic we’re proud of as less than 10 per cent of the engineering workforce in the aerospace sector are female. In this article, we have highlighted four key opportunities that organisations can use to enhance gender diversity in their recruitment lifecycle. Partner with education to encourage participation In a recent report on women in Aviation / Aerospace (WIAA, 2022), it was highlighted that 46% of females become interested in the industry before they have left school. This outlines the huge potential for building a brighter future for women in aviation, but work needs to start early to lay the foundations. If organisations take action by inspiring early through partnering with educational institutions and providing events such as workshops, guest speakers, and competitions, introducing role models and mentors to younger demographics, the likelihood of achieving more females joining the industry can only move in a positive direction. In a recent “Female Influencers” podcast with Strativ Group a female leader in the eVTOL industry said, “having a mentor helped me understand myself better and the world around me better.” We need to ensure that role models and mentors are made visible and available to everyone and starting this during early education is likely to have the highest impact. In the same 2022 WIAA report it showed that beyond the role of flight attendants, female representation across all roles increased, on average, by less than 1% (0.95) between 2005 and 2020. “I have often found myself the only female in the room” said Stephanie Duffy, Director of Enterprise Technology Integration at Boeing. This only emphasises the challenges the industry is facing in creating a diverse workforce long-term and the lasting impact of having a male dominated industry with minimal signs of change on the horizon. Historically, Airbus Defence and Space has been a diverse company due to our multinational, pan-European set-up. When it comes to other aspects of diversity though, such as gender diversity, we're still not where we want to be. On #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the achievements of women in #aerospace - but we also take stock of what still needs to be done to become a more diverse, more equal, and more inclusive company. While we're actively working towards creating a level playing field for women, there's still room for improvement. This already begins in the education system, where women are still underrepresented in fields like aviation and egineering, and continues on the shopfloor, engineering jobs, up to the top management level. We don’t want to accept this. To encourage women to pursue a career in STEM and to support them on their journey, we have various programmes in place like cooperations with local universities at our various sites, graduate and management programmes or mentorships. Today, by shining a light on the women at Airbus that blazed a trail, we motivate young girls and women to follow in their footsteps. #IWD2024 #InspireInclusion
