Dubai / 09 Jul 2024 / RTA – Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (#RTA) has launched a pilot operation utilizing a smart vehicle for AI-assisted automated #detection of right-of-way damage and #traffic diversion #inspections. This initiative highlights RTA’s commitment to integrating the latest digital and #AI technologies to enhance #road network quality and traffic safety, aligning with their vision of being the World Leader in Seamless and Sustainable #Mobility.
The advanced vehicle is equipped with high-precision tools, including cameras, sensors, and technical devices, to collect data on right-of-way conditions and verify traffic diversion compliance with RTA’s technical standards. It generates and uploads reports automatically, eliminating the need for human intervention.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency, stated, "RTA is dedicated to improving operational efficiency in monitoring right-of-way conditions and response times. This initiative will enhance asset sustainability and urban aesthetics, supporting Dubai's infrastructure, economic growth, and reputation as a safe destination."
Al Banna added, "The smart vehicle provides 30% more comprehensive site coverage and reduces inspection time by 70% compared to traditional methods. It achieves accuracy rates exceeding 85% in detecting right-of-way damage and verifying traffic diversions, ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow."
RTA will continue to adopt the latest digital technologies in asset inspection, evaluation, and proactive maintenance, committed to providing safe and efficient mobility for Dubai’s motorists and pedestrians.
